Thats good information Ajay I would like to call you The Chairman and the Managing Director of the Laxmikant-Pyarelal Fan Club. Good information. I have also read your articles on LP on other sites.

Hemlata(Ravindra Jain Fame), SP Balasubramanium, Sonu Nigam, Kavita Krishnmurthy even Sukhwinder Singh were introduced by Laxmikant-Pyarelal.

Iqbal Bhai,

The singer in question is Manmohan Singh, a cinematographer/director. Though he hasn't rendered an LP compositions he did have good songs in Laila, Waaris & Romance.

Dear Sir,
I would like to add that singers like Minoo Parshotam has rendered songs for a number of punjabi and other regional languages films. She was also used by great OP Nayyar in some hindui movies. Jani Babu Qawwal has not only rendered the songs in hindi films but has scored the music of the film "NoorMahal" which has got one immortal rendering by Suman Kalyanpur..Aaj ki raat na ja mere mehboob...
Even Manhar Udhas was introduced by Kalyanji Anandji in "Vishwas". No doubt Mehandi Hassan is a renowned ghazal singer but he is singing in Pakistani films since 1960s.

You mean Mukul Agrawal (Jackie's Secretary) sang "Kabhi Bhoola Kabhi Yaad Kiya"??? MY GOD!!!!!!! Thats BIG NEWS to me!!!! The voice was sooo good.....I thought all thses days it must've been Hariharan or someone......(Voice style was like that).......Hats off to Mukul bhai!!!

Really loved his voice.......Why doesn't he sing more regularly??? Inspite of having such a good voice.....

Well.....just for your info, you have mentioned that Sukhwinder Singh got his first break for Saudagar (93)..Well....LP had launched him in 1985 already......with Naam.......Yes......he has sung the Final portion of "Chitti Aayee Hai"....(the same Pankaj Udhas number)......Sukhwinder breaks into a HIGH PITCHED "Bade Dino ke baad.........." (Picturised on Parikshit Sahni in the audience...) and ends the song with chorus support......

Is the sangram song like this " sorry iam sorry tera naam bhoool gayi ???

Aisa hi kuch ek Lata ji ka bhi song tha

Acha jackie shroff se yaad aya

this song from Sapne sajan ke was picturised on Jackie and dimple(actress name doubtfull)

and one more song which was bit similar to this song was song from RAm lakhan

by LP " mujhe tumse hai kitne gille.................tera naam liya"........lyrics are bit similar

i think it was sung by Anuradha paudwal and manhar

and was again picturised on Dimple and jackie shroff !!!(

LP didn't introduce Sonu. In fact he only sang his first song for LP in forgotten film called MAHA-YUDH 1998. The song was "Leke tera naam" with Alka Yagnik.

he the sang for LP in Deewana Mastan & Jai-Hind.

It's a shame that LP where on the decline when Sonu was on the rise, because it would have been great to have an all LP/Sonu score.

according to hindilyrix: Sonu Nigam recorded his first song for the film Aaja Meri Jaan courtesy Usha Khanna who introduced him to composer Amar Utpal. But he was clearly told by the composer that he would keep the song only if he found it good enough. However fate had something else in store for Sonu as the song got dubbed by SP Balasubramaniam. Sonu was left cursing his luck as two of his very good songs were being sung by another singer and his songs were not even being heard. He had sung five songs in the film out of which the first four were rejected but the fifth song was the one that that Gulshan Kumar heard and summoned him. The rest as they say is history. The song that really made Sonu Nigam famous was â€˜Accha Sila Diya Tune Mere Pyar Kaâ€™ for the film Bewafa Sanam.

You are correct that Sukhwinder Singh is introduced by LP but Sukh S. is a filmi singer. I have listing out the famous singer but not known for film songs.

I differ with you. Sukhvindar singh has sung first in 'karma', then in 'khilaf' (aaja sanam meri jaan chali, for chunky pandey) and then 'saudagar'.

I'd like to add ANUP JALOTA to the above list.
I can think of the following movies where he sang for LP - the first two he made a good impact.

EK DUJE KE LIYE - "Koshish Karke Dekhle Nadiya Saare Duniya Saari, Dil Ki Lagi Nahin Bujhti, Bujhti Hai Har Chigaari" (which is the Opening line of the song Solah Baras Ki)

AGNEE - "Mere Krishan Muraari Aa, Der Na Kar Girdhaari Aaa" (Its what Anup Jalota excels in .. just a simply beautiful bhajan .. I am looking for this song btw, so if some has it, please do share)

QATL (1986) - He sang the song "Kisi ka Dil to Todega" which I believe is a solo

JAAN HATHELI PE - he sang the duet "Sairam Sumiran" with Anuradha Paudwal
