Unni miyaan, kya kartay ho? Such an awesome piece & you didn't even put down the lines for it. The composer is Naseer Kadri while the words are by Ghulam Rabbani. I'm putting them down here, with a hope that some wanderer who hasn't sampled Talat sahab's rich voice might download the song & enjoy it as much as we do, or maybe even more, who knows.

Sahir creating magic here? Is it the rustic charm of Nayyar's music? Is it Talat voicing the lyrics perfectly that does the trick? Or just team-effort that makes this song so marvellous?

jaante hain talat itna acchaa kyon gaate the- kyonki woh acche aadmi bhi the.
character ki achai unki awaaz mein utar gayee.

jab madhumati film ban rahi thi tab talat apne acting career mein vyasta they. salilda ki woh pahli pasand the so unhone is film ke gaanon (esp suhana safar..) ke liye talat ko bulaye. talat could not give him time but he knew that another great mukesh is out of work for sometime. so he recommended his name to salilda. that's how mukesh's career was relaunched (such great's also had tough times ... isiliye unki aawaz mein itna dard tha). mukesh never looked back (thankfully for us).

compare this with kumar sanu and udit narayan spat.

It is also said that even if you remove the largest lake from an ocean, it makes no difference to the ocean. In this case, of course, what the world thought was a lake was actually an ocean.

As for the last line in your post, there are a lot of things that happen in this world that I am (blissfully) unaware of.

Here is a nice duet of Sudha Malhotra with Talat Mehmood in the fim
"Sim sim marjina" (this was a sequel to a film called "Khul ja sim sim"
which had music by Hansraj Behl).
This film was scored by A R Qureshi (or the tabla mastro Allah Rakha)
in the year 1958.
