Directed by filmmaker Shonali Bose, Amu revolves around the anti-Sikh riots that exploded after Indira Gandhi's assassination in 1984.
"I feel that after the bloodbath in the Capital during the riots, even 20 years later there's no justice, then this issue is very much alive," said filmmaker Shonali Bose.
Amu stars Konkona Sen Sharma, who plays an orphan brought up in Los Angeles. She returns to India in search of her roots and finds that her real parents were killed during the riots.
"I was dying to work with her and I thought it was a very important film which should be made. It has been an overwhelming experience," said actress Konkona Sen Sharma.
Many of Delhi's film buffs attended the screening.
