It is great tribute to Priyaji by HF.
I had the opportunity to interact with her little regarding the duets of mukesh sahab and ashaji. She generously helped me with her collection. I still remember she was the first who welcomed me in the forum
when i joined it. Really a tragic news for all music lovers.
May her soul rest in peace.

I have come across some of her posts from past few years; havent interacted with her - seems like she was a very kind person, in any case this should not have happened - may her soul rest in peace. God Bless.

Dear friends,
I logged on to HF on August 26th and was very surprised and happy to see a very well designed web page announcing the passing of Priya and was even happier to note that the site would remain closed for the day in her memory (since it would have been her 32nd birthday) !
Many thanks to Pradeep, Nimii, CyBorg - whoever was responsible for this. Great idea - very well executed.
Some of the pain of the rough times that this forum experienced in the year 2006 and the unpleasantness associated with the exit / withdrawal of some musically passionate members of the forum has been redeemed by this very sensible and affectionate step. But, in retrospect, I cannot help thinking that so many unpleasant and unnecessary situations could have been so easily avoided at HF if only all the people here were able to understand the deep bonds of friendship that bound them together and could leave behind their egos and focus on sharing their common love of music. Does it really need someone to die for this to happen ?
Priya was very passionate about HF - it was a second home to her. There may be many stories circulating, many views, many reasons to explain various things that happened ....but at the bottom of my heart, I genuinely feel that we, as a community, let her down quite badly. By destroying the friendly environment of this forum, we robbed her (and many others, I am sure) of a place they liked to be in.
Perhaps some of us will feel that there are some lessons in life to be learnt from this. On the other hand, there may be many who probably don't care at all.
In any case, the web page dedicated to Priya on Aug 26th reflects not only the significant presence and contribution of Priya to this forum, but is also a great reminder of the days when there was an environment of great friendship here - when moderators and members interacted as friends - pulling each others' legs and enjoyed each other's company.
All those who knew Priya and who had interacted with her here will miss her immeasurably. I met her twice at Bangalore when she visited the city and had very enjoyable discussions with her about music and many other matters as well. I carry memories of her 'ever-smiling' face.
Even after she was forced to leave HF, we had continued to remain in touch through email off and on - more off than on, though - she was concentrating on doing her Ph.D, she said. It is still very difficult for me to really come to terms with the fact that she is no more. But who can forget her - the great Asha fan - who brought so much life to this forum along with many others?

My heartfelt thanks to the administrator(s) who honored Priya by closing HF on her birthday. Those of us who knew her appreciate it and those who did not, at least got to know of the presence of a significant contributor on this forum.
