This, I think, was Hridaynath's first hindi film (someone correct me if I am wrong). He had already used this lovely tune for a marathi song 'jivalagaa raahile door ghar maaze...' sung again by Asha.

Hridaynath has often repeated his tunes note-for-note from Marathi to Hindi in a bid to reach out to a wider audience.

If you need 'jivalagaa' pls let me know...

Yes, Mandrake, I think Prarthana is Hridaynath's first Hindi movie. He keeps re-using his Marathi tunes. For the 2nd song 'O rasiya more piya' too, he has used his own tune of "Ye re ghana ye re ghana"...

On the Lata forum, I have re-uploaded his songs from Lal Salaam, where he has re-used his tunes of 3 Marathi folk songs.
