Does anybody know the movie and other details.

HB, if we take the case of playback singers who consistently sang from forties till early seventies, Geeta Dutt must be one of the artists whose songs are most difficult to get. The reason I gave a pointer to that thread was to share whatever additional information is available.

Yes I definitely agree with that. ( I have faced it). Its very difficult to get geetaji's songs other than 10-15 hit ones.
(Reminds me of a funny statement a shopkeeper made once- You can get any flavour of icecream you want as long as its vanilla!)
Special efforts are needed for that. (By the way I am still waiting for that dvd. Please make a torrent at convenience somewhere. i will download it. Lets not trouble relatives). This way it would be available for other geeta dutt fans also.

I will try to upload songs there. But what is your definition of CDQ here in terms of bitrate alone or source also matters.
I have some songs with excellent voice quality but bitrates may not be very high.

Good audio quality (preferably ripped from an audio/video CD) at a bit rate of 128-192 KBPS is my definition of CDQ.

About torrents, I did see that thread some time back and uploaded a torrent too. Was not sure if its working or not, hence did not pursue it further. In case you have a good knowledge, I can ask for your help in case I get stuck up.

Will try and upload a sample torrent this weekend !

Hi HB, I have downloaded the torrent application, but having issues in opening up the port. The help page related to that is too complicated to understand. Any clue on how to do this ?

Problem opening in port? I use torrents often for downloads and it worked out of the box. (I use Ktorrent front end in linux). Where are you trying to run the software? Is it possible that your ISP or employer or firewall/proxy has blocked that port? (Some people stop it to limit bandwidth usage).
What does the help page say?

Regarding that torrent thing. I have found a better option fordoing what we really want.
I found a site which allows us to make our own website with free space of 50 GB and even allows ftp connections. (isse upload karna asaan hai).
Maine koshish kar ke ek starting ke liye site banaayi uspar http://hildebrand.987mb.com (987mb.com is the site offering the facility).
Gaana bhi upload karne ki koshish ki.
From what I have discovered there It is not allowing any upload of .mp3 files or even .mp3.zip. .rar file bhi upload karna allow nahin kar raha. BUT agar zip file banao to upload kar raha hai.
Office documents bhi allowed hain.
Maine ek sample gaana aur excel sheet (aapke waali) bhi uspe upload ki hai.

Hum aise hi 2-3 site bana ke kai gaane upload kar sakte hain. Pages banana bhi asaan hi hai. (HTML mein thodi bahot help kar sakta hoon. Uska editor achcha dikh raha hai par file se link karne ke time mujhe source dekhna pada but its simple).
Isse yeh faayda hoga ki aur logon ko direct uske link de sakte hain. Koi expiry ka jhanjhat nahi hoga iske kaaran. (ratio ki bhi chinta kam hogi). Kya kehte ho aap?

Excellent idea. I checked your page, looks nice. Now is there a per file size limit ? If no, then one can put say 200 songs into 1 zip file and let it upload over nigjt. Then the others can get it without worrying for the ratio. Even the HF admins will be happy (less load on HF server)

I don't know whats the maximum size. But feel it would be better to have the songs separately.
One good thing is that it allows facility of ftp for upload. So if you have ftp client you could make a folder of all desired zip files and tell it where to put.
That will fulfill your night requirement. (some browsers like konqueror allow it to be done like copy paste also but I don't know of any windows one which allows that).
Also it appears there is a limit on maximum downloads.
