Krishna Dayal "B. Sc" is well remembered, to this day, for 'Lekh', which had immortal creations like Geeta Roy's "Tu muskura lab pe mere hansi rahe na rahe", Suraiya's "Seene pe mere barq giraakar chale gaye", Suraiya-Mukesh's "Badra ki chhaon tale nanhi nanhi boondiyan", Asha-Mukesh's "Yeh kaafila hai pyar ka chalta hi jaayega" and Mukesh's "Lut gaya din raat ka aaraam kyon". A year later, in 'Baawra', we again discerned class in Krishna Dayal's creations such as Geeta's "Meri duniya ki shaayad har khushi kam hoti jaati hai" and "Is dil ka bangla khali hai", Lata's "Julmi naina balam ke" and "Shama jalti hai to parwaane chale aate hain", sung in contrasting moods by Geeta-Rafi and Lata. Yet, for such an impressive output, Krishna Dayal is unknown, unheard and unsung today. What price immortality?
