An alumnus of the prestigious Bhatkhande School of Music, S N Tripathi revealed his illustrious musical upbringing in every composition he created, consigned, as they unfortunately were, to pulp historicals and mythologicals. Arguably the greatest among the unsung master-composers in Hindi cinema, the creator of "Aa lautke aaja mere meet" and "Zara saamne to aao chhaliye" deserves, at the very least, a better memory than he commands.
