A unique collection of music compositions of all Hindi film music directors

In the wake of good response to the Voice Bank of India thread, the next obvious thing is to launch this collection of one best song of every music director in the history of Hindi film music that began with Alamara in 1931. Undoubtedly the task is a very tough one, but we must undertake it. If for nothing else, for the sake of the pleasure of doing it.

I have no idea how many music directors have been there in Hindi film history, but surely we will come to know that as we trek along the musical path towards a summit, which we may truly never reach as many old songs have already perished through criminal negligence on the part of their custodians.

So we begin our journey with the composition of one of the greatest composers of all times, Vasant Desai.[color=#330033]

Vasant Desai was one of the most versatile music directors of Hindi and Marathi fims. His musical scores for Gunj Uthi Shehnai, Do Aankhe Barah Haath, Toofan aur Diya, Jhanak Jhanak Payal Baje, Guddi, Ardhangini, Pyar ki Pyas, School Master, Aashirwad, and numerous other movies are all popualr even today. Here we have chosen a chorus song of Asha in a lighter vein. It is a very charming piece of music.

excuse me .. where did u cover those 2 music directors? cant see any section for Sajjad Hussain and also for Khwaja Khurshid Anwar the pride of Pakistan.

Sajjad Husain Saab is already covered and Khurshid Anwar Ji is there under ' and so on'.

By the way, I didn't know Khurshid Ji belonged to Pakistan only. I always think of him as belonging to our entire sub-continent. The political division might be there, but culturally we are all one and same as Khurshid Anwar Saab himself proves. He must be having more admirers in this part than in which you live!

May be silly request but I hope you can help.
Khurshid Anwar Ji composed a song for Madam in film Intezar (1954). You might have heared this "Chhun Chhun Naachungi, Gun Gun Gaungi". ( It was blockburster anyway). This is not the request for song. I already have this.

When Noor Jehan Ji pauses every time between verses, there is a musical instrument playes. Very hounting melodious music it is. I want to identify this instrument. I am listning it for many years. Sometimes I keep thinking about it during late hours of night loosing sleep. It keeps ringing in my brain.

I never passed this request to the forum thing it may not help. If you want I can upload this song but plese identify this instrument and if possible player "Sazinda" of this instrument.

By the way I don't live in any side of the border and admire Khawaza Sahab's music from seven oceans apart.
