Sharada (1957)

"Sharada" was the first Hindi movie the late great L.V. Prasad from South made. He went onto make several hit and entertaining movies. All of his Hindi movies were based on successful Telugu movies. This was the only movie for which CR gave music for LV. Some of these songs were very popular when the movie was playing. Mukesh had one solo, "Jap Jap Jap Jap Re," that was very popular even though by his standard this was an okay song. But the song that is played over and over again even today is the duet by Ashaji and Lataji "O Chand Jahan Woh Jaayen." As usual, CR's favorite, Rajinder Krishan penned the lyrics.
