Surprising that the "Attachment" section shows a rar file to have been uploaded with this post yesterday, while I am unable to spot any.

Thanks very much for sharing this, it wasn't until you requested that I realized that I was missing this from my collection, I used to have this cassette. Indeed it's a lovely, I remember the way it was sung, almost like a wave going up and down gradually... Is that actually Chitra's voice layered on itself? Wow I had forgotten that part! Their albums were always very well engineered.

A little late in coming to this post. Yes there are a few songs which I must have spent ages searching. And when I finally get them, it makes me believe - "Dhoondhne se to bhagwaan bhi mil jaate hain"

I love this ghazal for exactly the same reasons (besides the voice element and lyrical treat) - the variations - they sound like as if a wave is traveling. Amazing superimposition of the voices.

Hopefully being at HF will give you more then one occassion to experience that. That's exactly how I feel! And music is my religion I think, lol, at least where I buy most of it is my Music Mandir for sure. I was listening to the Kronos Quartet & Asha album again last night - Saiyan Re Saiyan Re from The Train has been redone with the vocal layers as well. It's a nice effect when used sparingly. Previous to that I mostly noticed it in a ghazal album of Najma's.

Yes deewani - HF has given me some of the most coveted songs that I could have probably not found anywhere else. I have not heard any of the Kronos Quartet & Asha's album songs. Now that you reco it, I will find it somehow. Which ghazal of Najma's are you referring to?

Also, the song by Rajnedra and Nina Mehta that I mentioned about - " Jab raat ka aanchal lehraaye ... Tazmahal mein aa jana" is in a post by ferrol under "Ghazals, Nazms and Geet" section. You will most probably like it too.

It's the one composed by music director Ravi called Ghazals By Najma from 87, I recently shared it in the Ravi filmography thread, but the files are probably down by now, if you don't have it and would like to hear it, let me know, I'll share it again. Or if you are curious, I can share a handful of the ones I really like from it. Thanks for the recommendation, I'll go check it out!

Ok never heard of this one as well. I usually consider myself "not so naive" in music matters. I am beginning to be proved wrong at HF. I would like to hear the ones you like. Pls upload them them when you can. Happy u liked the Mehtas' ghazal.

I'll re-upload that album tomorrow here: http://www.hamaraforums.com/index.php?s=&a...st&p=419983
And I will also share a few others of hers from different albums that I like, hope you like them as well.
