Hi Sonu Ji,

Jeevitha Chakram was released, I think, during my pre-final year at the Andhra University College of Engineering. Even befor the release, all of us, the die-hard SJ fans, were highly excited that SJ was actually composing music for a Telugu Film.

Obviously, anyone would rightly guess that the MD was actually Shankar only.

The "Bathkamma Bathkamma Uyyalo, Bangaru Gowramma Uyyalo" song by P.Suseela is also a very nice song and a big hit those days.

Hi Venkat ji

Thanks thanks a lot for feedbak bow.gif

Shankar was from hyderbad so knew telugu well. This was first complete Telugu movie by SJ. In Prema lakhu(53) tunes of Awara(??) were used.

Going by orcchestra of One song Kaanti chopu (??) I sometimes feel the movie was under production from 60s and then its video also is a B/W one. Venkat ji any info regarding this??

will soon upload premalakhu songs

Thank you very much Sonuji for these Telugu songs of Shankar-Jaikishan. "Prema Lekhalu" is Telugu version of "Aah." Raj Kapoor released the Telugu and Hindi versions suimulataneously. Telugu version was dubbed from Hindi. All songs from Telugu were also superhits. There are nine songs in total. I have all ninne of them, if you are missing any.

Jeevita Chakram was a 1971 Film and as you guessed, is a Black and White Film. That was probably the period wherein both Shankar and Sharada were at the beginning of the decline in their careers!

You are right that Aah was a flop. So was this Premalekhalu too. However, Jeevita Chakram was a medium hit having NTR in the lead. And, of course, all the Film's songs became popular and one could hear them very frequently on Radio those days.
