THanks Ajayji Please post this in SKS. This is a 1993 film by the same name , SJ's Gori was from 1991 I think and If you see the track list is different in this one. Where is my KK # And if if you can find Hemaji's Indira also that is there in the included as a trailer in this one , I will be much indebted

EDIT: Also it may be possible that they didnt use SJ's tune that was originally recorded. KK's book states the Gori # by him composed by SJ.

I do not think so, the song in the film itself is about 2.50m

In that case, these are two different songs.
Internet sites that post song videos have the final scene from Amrapali. Though the audio quality is poor, I can make out the verses from this final scene having the lines 'premato jayati' (Dharmapada); about 2 min long.

They will have to be two different songs. I played the internet video and I couldn't find the lines 'namaameesha meeshaan nirvaan roopam' in it . Therefore, I feel, there are two missing songs in Amrapali; 'namaameesha ...' and 'premato jayati'.

That is Rudrashatak from Uttrakand. Lord Ram chanted it in when he worshiped
Shivalinga in Rameshwaram.

I guess, 'Ishaanya' (East) might have derived from 'Ishaan'.

Balak has songs composed by Shankar(jaikishan) . Dattaram ji himself told us abt this. but only name of Dattaram was given.
Shankar ji gave name of Sharda to be used as Music director.......but producers were not ready for this. so Ulitmatley compromised name was tht of Dattaram . Dattaram ji did helped in the orchestra etc.

I would prefer to go by official credit.
If we go by the MD who might have really composed a particular song, I feel it would create more problems and confusion (for example some of SDB and RDB numbers).

This is an SJ album . There are pics of Shankar ji at the recording of songs of this movie. ! Atleast of songs of Manna, Shabbir . It also could be the case where Shankar ji didnt wanted his name to be used for this movie. ( nerukar also gives these reasons in his book ! )


This movie's Director is Sudhakar sharma The "chunri" lyricist he is big SJ fan and also considers Shailendra as his guru !.


Sudhakar sharma himslf told in an interview tht he used to work in SJ studio as spot boys and used to wash car of Shankar !

Thanks for the pic. Mahesh ji there are more pics of Shankar ji in Nerukar book at the recording of songs of Gori.

It shows Manna dey at the recording of some song of Gori.

( BTY Manna dey could be the only singer to have been used in one of the first movie of SJ to the last movie ).


Similarly Balak is a SJ movie Dattaram ji himself said this IN camera. All of us were there when he told us abt this.

It contains an additional anatara (chalaayenge aise zamaane). I don't know what the 2nd part of the song is supposed to contain. I notice that the songs tempo changes a little bit in the middle. I wonder if the 3:48min audio itself is a combination of two parts.

The ISB lyrics of this song indicates 'aye aasmaan ke rahi' as the introductory lines to 'haaye saawan' song.

Mumkin hai ki pics us waqt ke hon jab Shankar ne is film par kaam abhi shuroo hi kiya tha.
Kyonki mujhe ye mumkin nahin lagata ki Sudhakar ya Enock apne ustaad ka naam hi film se gaayab kar den. Aur usse bhi jyada namumkin ye hai ki koi producer apni film ke liye SJ ka naam use karne se rah jaay.
Main ye maan ke chalta hoon ki HF ke baaki sab logon ke kaan mujhse achchhe hain, kyonki music mera pahla pyaar nahin hain isliye is album ko sunkar mere liye ye tay karna mushkil hai ki ismen kitne Shankar hain ya kahan hain.Hashmi ji ne album apload kar diya hai aap sun kar khud dekh lijiyega.
Mere khayal se ye aisa album hai jisko sirf is liye itni keemat mil gayi hai ki ye available nahin tha. Warna iske music mein average se jyada kuchchh nahin hai. Ise sunne ke baad mujhe pahla khyal ye aaya ki rare ke chakkar mein padne ke bajaay behter hai ki hum behter ki talaash karen.

Rahi Balak ki baat to ye ki records par aur Geetkosh mein Dattaram ka hi naam hai.

I have decided not to include Gori in S-J filmography.
At the end of filmography listing, I have included the following explanation.

There are reports that music for two other movies, Baalak and Gori, were composed by Shankar-Jaikishan (or Shankar).
However, for these two movies, both credits displayed on screen and in their album labels do not show S-J. The official music credits for these two movies went to Dattaraam (for Baalak) and Enock Danyal (for Gori). I have chosen to follow the official credits and thus excluded these two movies from this filmography.

Gori ke gaane jaroor Shankar ji ke hain. yeh baat enoch bhi maan chuke hain. main baad mein book etc se aap sab ke liye referance dunga.

Style shankar wala hai songs me. mujhe kuch ke liye yakeen hai.


Songs ka mukabla SJ ke best se nehi kar sakte. punch nehi hai songs mein otherwise..... songs ache hain. kuch songs ki dhun achi hai like one Kavita solo and one shabbir solo. and if gori hai kaliyan is also by shankar then it is also a good tune !

Balak shankar ji ki movie hai. uss time SJ top MDs thay isslye frds ki low banner ki movies ke liye shannkar ji aksar dusre naam use karte thay. jaise unhone street singer ke liye kara. magar iss baar unhone chupne ke liye Dattaram ke naam ka sahara liya.

If you have songs of Balak please do upload them. few of the songs were very popular like " suno bapu ki"
