Thanks a lot Talaikya ji,
I just heard this song in a live show sung by a local artist some days back, and since then i was desperate to get this song clap1.gif , m happy now :-).
This's really a lovely song , even it was picturised well too on Waheeda Rehman. have u seen this movie "Teesari Kasam", its based on a story "Mare gaye gulfam" written by Fanishwar Nath Renu. Acting of both leading artist was really amazing in this movie. Music was too superhit at that time, rather ppl still like the songs from this movie , e.g.
1. Chalat musafir moh liya re
2. Duniya banane wale kya tere man me samayi
3. Sajan re jhooth mat bolo
4. Sajanawa bairi ho gaye hamar
5. Aa aa bhi ja
6. Paan khaye saiyan hamaro

Shankar-Jaikishan has mixed folk tunes very well in all songs.

i thnk i'd given a big lecture , got to stop now ;-)

thnx T ji for providing the song,
Man

Man ji,

Lectures are always very welcome and thank you's are really not required, I am just trying to give a bit of what I get, hai na?

I loved Teesri Kasam, have aquired the DVD. When my younger brother saw it in London after many years, he fell in love with it too... though he is of the newer generation. But at the time it was a big flop as I understand. Shailendra produced it and lost all his money. He died heart broken evidently. There's something about Raj Kapoor though being a great pal and having worked with Shailendra all those years, not bailing him out etc etc. I really don't know the details, maybe someone can illuminate further?

Also I had asked a question about this song here earlier... aap ko kya lagta hain?

Yes u are right, we all are trying to give a bit of what we have... I really love the spirit of HF. bow.gif

When this movie released in 1966, it was a big flop inspite it begged President's Gold Medal for the best feature film. Yeah i too heard about the tiff between Raj Kapoor and Shailendra saheb , but dont have the exact details. Shailendra saheb lost everything for his friend. His last gift for Raj Kapoor was the song for movie Mera Naam Joker "Jeena yaha marna yaha".
He passed away on the same day when Kapoor family used to celebrate birthday of Raj Kapoor saheb.
