"na to buthkade ki talab mujhe" was originally composed and sung by Ustad Fateh Ali Khan,father of Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.I have been searching this qawwali for a long time and the search is still going on.
This version is sung by Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan for the album "Mehfil-E-Sama" in 1984.The famous qawwali "yeh ishq ishq hai ishq ishq" of the movie "Barsaat Ki Raat" was inspired from "na to buthkade ki talab mujhe"
I must thank Deewani Ji to upload this version for me.She has always been a great help ever since i have joined HF.
I have tried to write down the lyrics.Each stanza conveys different meaning as if it is unfolding a different spectrum of Sufism.This is a masterpiece of Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.I wonder how Ustad Fateh Ali Khan had sung it.No doubt a father is always a father.
These days I am touched by some of the exceptionally beautiful qawwalis of Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.
I am sure you all will love it as much as I adore "na to buthkade ki talab mujhe"

Thain Ki Thageya Aashiq Zaara, this word Thain (meaning Tu) is soooo Punjabi (and difficult to render with English characters, does not rhyme with train!), so informal and condescending yet at the same time used with love and familiarity, I love him using it here.

Aurous, MD is considered to be Ustad's father na, and most of what Ustad sings is from his compositions and those of his forefathers.

I don't know but I assume it's a mix of lyricists as we know Ustaad likes to drift from poet to poet (Khusrao, Iqbal, Ghalib, Bulleh Shah, etc). Also I heard almost identical Punjabi lyrics in Wadali Brother's Ve Sone Diyan Kangna, I'm pretty sure the Punjabi passage is Baba Bulleh Shah's.
