<<For three consecutive days in May 1988, India's incomparable Melody Queen held vast audiences in London and Birmingham spellbound with an enchanting repertoire of songs.A vibrant group of talented Indian musicians, led by Anil mohile, added colour event.It reaffirms the vocal supremacy of Lata Mangeshkar.
The Concerts were held in aid of the Jawaharlal Nehru Centenary Fund, and were graced by the presence of Mrs. Sheila Dixit, Chairperson of the implementation Committee for the Fund.
The Concerts ended with Lata's golden voice singing the heart-stirring "Aye mere watan ke logo", a song best remembered for the fact it once moved Panditji to tears.
The master showman Raj Kapoor was to have introduced Lata Mangeshkar at hte Concerts.In fact, the unforgettable songs from his movies formed a major part of the programme.Unfortunately his poor health kept him away and only a few days later he passed away into history.
Lata Mangeshkar was accompanied by Usha Mangeshkar, Nitin Mukeshn Suresh Wadkar, A. Hariharan & Chorus.>>
