Family launches book on Sunil, Nargis Dutt



New Delhi: A photo-essay book on actors Sunil Dutt and Nargis was launched in the capital. The Dutt family was out in full force at the launch of the book on their parents.

Flanked by his brothers-in-law, even actor Sanjay Dutt accompanied his sisters and authors of the book Priya and Namrata as they greeted guests at the Prime Residence with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi in attendance.

Priya began by summing up their reasons to write the book Mr and Mrs Sunil Dutt, Memories of our parents.

“The reason of writing this book was a way of recording what our parents meant to us and who they were as people,” said Priya.

Also addressing the audience was Sonia Gandhi, focusing on Sunil Dutt's involvement in social work while in politics.

“We in the Congress Padyatra sipahi cannot not think of a single person better equipped Sunil Dutt,” said Sonia.

While the Prime Minister chose to talk about Nargis and Sunil Dutt's immortal film together Mother India, incidentally during which they fell in love.

“The immortal film brought them together and it became an excellent marriage. Mother India was a turning point in their life. In the history of Indian cinema in the in the life of out nation,” said Singh.

All high profile and politics with no page 3, which Mr and Mrs Dutt would have liked definitely at the book launch.
