Today we are celebrating Madam Noor Jehan's Birth Day, In my opinion Madam was one of the greatest singers the subcontinent has ever produced. Happy birthday to the lovely, mellifluous Noor Jehan! I don't know too many of her songs, but the ones I do know, I love! Like Jawan He Mohabbat, Tu Kaunsi Badali Mein Mere Chaand, Teri Yaad Aayi Tu Ghar Aa, Aawaz De Kahan Hei. She was only 14 when she recorded Tu Kaunsi Badali!
May there be one more of her kind again, and soon!

Happy birthday madam

A very happy birthday to Madam.

when i was a kid (maybe 14 or 15), and i used to hear madam noor jahan sing her punjabi songs, i found nothing special in them.

i grew a little more and began to appreciate lata ji's singing. madam was still a over-appreciated celebrity to me.

once a friend of mine (he was 57 when i was 15), said "noor jahan's the best" i retorted, "oh yeah?" and then went on and on describing the various aspects i did not like abt her. he kept smiling.. he was grown

i grew a little more. and came to realize that madam was probably one of the greatest singers in the history of the sub continent.

and now i realize, no matter how anybody puts it. madam is a legend. her singing has no parallel. she is the queen of melody no doubt. there's no end to her talent.. a million praises will fall short no matter. even if i was the greatest writer who ever lived.

long live her talent and the love she has left with all of us through her songs.

i salute you mdam! have a happy birthday, i pray ure soul rests in peace..

i heard this for rafi.. and i think it is equally true for madam.
