Hello Friends,

I am fairly new member of Hamaraforums (HF). But ever since I joined HF, I always found the name of this forum somehow unsuitable for the members who are uploading their version songs. I have recorded few songs in the professional recording studio couple of years back and I sincerely feel that my songs are definitely not as good as the original one. But at the same time, they are very much in Sur. Without Sur and Taal, I dont really think the song can be recorded properly especially in the professioanl studios.

My sincere opinion is to change the name of this Forum from 'Sur Mein Na Sahi' to, may be something like

HF Ki Mehfil
HF Sangeet-Manch
Hamare member-Gayak
Sureela HF
Sur Ke Sath HF
HF ke Sur-Taal
Sangeet/ Gayaki Ke Deewane

If anyone has any other name in mind, please do suggest!

Guys, even if you do not agree with me, please say it out. Lets see how many feel exactly the same like me.

I am expecting opinions of many valuable members such as Anwar Fan, King Rafi, Sanjkash, Dhananjay, HumTum, eskayes, King Kishore, Marcilo, Dubloo, Paresh Pai, Shabbitkumar786, ravikumarfromindia, Deewani, Madhavi, GURUFAN, Azad, etc and many others whom I missed to mention here.

OMkar Bhau and HF Members,
I applaud your initiative in this matter, as I feel strongly as well that the name is unfair (to the artists). The name goes just unnoticed, doesn't attrach anybody's attention. All this may leave the amature HF artists demotivated/shy/scared/unstaisfied and may just block their progress/learing/sharing.
Let's not forget these are OUR ARTISTS (OUR OWN HF ARTISTS) who are willing (making efforts) to entertain OUR HF MEMBERS. If we are not the ones to make sure that the NAME is suitable, promotions and encouragements for the HF artists are there, then who else should/would do that. We want to get it right, we want to get it growing, we want HF Artists to come forward and show their skills and finally we want HF memebrs to get a treat/entertainment from the artists. All in all FUN for everyone.
I just make a small combinations from your suggestions "HF Ke Surile Artists" or even propose a very obvious one "Karaoke Mehfil". Hope there is a positive mood in getting this right.

Yeah! I totally agree with Omkar and Sanjkash, The current title is not the best to promote this dying thread. We want lots of people to upload their music here and entertain the rest of us Music LOVERS. There’s absolutely no way that any professional or a decent singer with an iota of self esteem would consider U/Ling anything under the present title. Karaoke singing is as Sanjkash Bhai says “FUN FOR ALL” and FOR ALL TO PARTICIPATE.

“HF KO SANGEET SE ROSHAN KAREIN”. I’ve experienced that this is also one aspect and beauty of music, in that, it unites people who otherwise probably would never meet due to personal music preferences.

All above titles are ACE, my contribution to title "Sangeet Karaoke Ki Mehfil"

The newbies of this forum barely understands what the title means.
Hence I am in favor of changing the title.

It should be something like:

1) HF - Sa Re Ga Ma Pa
2) Hamare Singers
3) HF Singing Celebrities

etc etc

When i upload songs in my voice, i am soooooooo much ok with Sur main NAA sahi.............in case i am out of sur for being not professional yet, i can hide myself behind the title no change pleej

IDOLji, I remember some people saying that THE GREAT LEGEND AMIT KUMAR used to be Besura in the beginning of his career. Ofc, I dont believe that, but anyone can any anything... Omkarbhai it won't sound like "listen to my songs.." it would be more like listen to my GRIEVANCES (protests -- which is rampant here) (I wouldn't support this term )

The mention of words like melody, song .. should be present (IMO)

Assuming your songs are BESUR, and if you upload your song in 'Sur Mein Na Sahi' section, you do not have inspiration to sing those songs in SUR. BUT if the name of the section for instance is 'HamareSinger Idol', and you upload the song which is Slightly out of Sur; you will still have the great inspiration to sing the further song in Sur...

'Sur Mein Na Sahi' would keep on underestimating you all the time. But 'HamareSinger Idol' would encourage you to sing better and better

Yeah I liked the title 'Awaz Anjane' as well. But how would it sound as 'Hamare AwazAnjane'? Ofc I know my own voice So may be, 'HF ke Awaz Anjane'??? Naa, I dont think that sounds good too... Kyon bhai log?

Lets move ahead... I would like to short list the following names as suggested you all.

1. HamareSingers Idol
2. HF - Sa Re Ga Ma Pa
3. HF Ke SurTaal
4. HamareGayak

My opinion on the above 3 names

1. HamareSingers Idol: Sounds like a copy of popular TV show but really very impressive.

2. HF - Sa Re Ga Ma Pa: Again sounds like a copy of popular TV show. But I did not like it much

3. HF Ke SurTaal: Sounds new and original. This also has a space for those who think they are BeSur.. So its really an ideal name

4. HamareGayak: This is simple and new name which also provides support for all levels of singers from Besur to Sureele singers.

My vote for title name is 4

Singers and Idol mean the same thing. So it shd be either
Hamare Singers or Hamare Idols

Hamare Gayak is also very good, though it sounds masculine to me, as there might be a word such as 'gayika' for females, in which case, gayak might mean you are restricting it only to males.

King Rafi bhai --- gaayak - singers (no gender). I just checked with Shabdkosh.

Idol means singers?? I dont think so... To me the meaning it show in MS Word is 'Icon', 'Statue', etc etc... I am sure that is the meaning for sure.

And I really did not notice that Gayak does not cover female singers... So I dont think its a right name..

Gayak = Male Singer
Gayika = Female Singer
Singer = Male/ Female Singer
Idol = Icon, Statue

KRbhai, you can still vote for 4 because I think when there are more than one singer and that consist male and female, then still we call such group as 'Gayak' only, I mean in that sense 'HamareGayak' should be right...

"Sur Mein Na Sahin"
The name implies a pessimistic view on new endeavors.

Omkar is correct. The sub forum title should be something which encourages more and more HF members to come and join the mehfil and let others know how they sound like.

It should have a name showing optimism towards fresh efforts and should also justify its purpose at the same time.

Many names already have been suggested here. I liked the "HF ki Mehfil" or "Meri Awaaz Suno" titles.

Let's see which one gets the final vote.

Chintubhai, there is no criteria as such... I just requested the names as I remembered while typing that msg.. I am mainly active in Kishore Kumar, Amit Kumar, Marathi forums and I did not see much of your activity since I joined HF... So I might have forgotten name... People might have developed any habit but mine was surely unintentional.

2 basic questions:

1. Do you agree for the change of name of this forum 'Sur Meini Na Sahi'
2. If yes, then on given suggession what could be the right name? (You can also suggest a good and new name if you want)

Meri awaaz suno is nice but some Rafi fans might object as it was the previous name of the Rafi group.
