I have been informed that the Asha's restaurant is organising a small event to celebrate Ashaji's birthday on 8th September. It happens to be a Wednesday.

The celebrations will be held over lunch and the media has been invited to cover the event.

The event is essentially in aid of 'Special Needs' children and is expected to consist of the following:

Cutting of the birthday cake by children with special needs
Introduction of the 'Juke Box' concept at the restaurant - this is going to be a permanent feature at Asha's.
The aim is to let the guests request for any song from Ashaji's vast repertire of songs and play it for them.
Interaction with the Press
Signing of the Birthday greeting card for Ashaji.
No. Ashaji is not expected to be present at the event. But there is a proposal to record the fans views on ashaji and send the cassette to her...
Lunch

Since the event is in aid of charity, there is an entry fee of AED100/- per head. This entitles you to lunch and a goody bag.

The event is being coordinated by Ms.Lajo, the daughter of Ustad Ali Akbar Khan and a good friend of Ashaji.

Wish i could also be there--would write a poem for Ashaji.
