Also reports that Aamir Khan has wed Kiran Rao.

Saif and Amrita - was bound to happen wasn't it? He is peaking and she is aging! Ways of the world... unfortunate but true. Where's a cynical smiley when you need one??

Who is Kiran Rao?

Kiran Rao is Ashutosh's assistant in Lagaan and also Swades. Kiran and Aamir were living together untill they got married.

When I went to Google Images Search and keyboarded in "Kiran Rao" it brought up some photos/posters of what seem to be actresses/models including one Kiran Rao. Any idea if it is the same person? She looks kind of "tough", not very feminine looking.

Looks like I got a wrong number. There is a model by that name (photo on web). There is also the "LAGAAN" assistant-director with whom Aamir Khan is linked (no photo with any press report). In case anybody's interested, there is also a good-looking male Network & Systems Manager by the same name in Secunderabad!

Aamir has kept a very profile about Kiran and himself. I havent seen her.. nor her photus have been on filmfare or other magzines and newspapers. There is a model/actress with the same name featured at indian-magic or some site like that.

Better if he had kept a low profile of the whole issue coz in another few years he may say bye bye to her too!

As for this model by that name, she is a Bangalore resident for the last 20 years (as per her interview). You guys would have known more, had she been in the news.

But seriously, about this Aamir Khan stuff, hadn't I heard a few months ago that he was going around with NDTV's Barkha Dutt? They apparently were a couple... for a few days, at least.
And didn't Aamir, a few years ago, declare without pause that he was kept married life and work apart, and that his marriage was for keeps? Now they're separating, that too after having two kids!
But perhaps we should't blame him only... who knows, the fault may have been on both sides.
I read a couple of days ago that Poonam Dhillon is also separated, from a Thakaria guy!

Oh, OK.
My theory is that these celebrities love themselves more than they love their spouses. So while common people make allowances for each other and take into account their kids' feelings, they have no qualms in going ahead with divorces.
Maybe that's happening more among common folks in India as well now, though, and divorce rates are going up.

In between Aarmir was going with Katrina Kaif also.. don't know what happened then. Aamir is way too workoholic, his priority for work is more than his family and affairs. Whereas SRK, always keeps or makes someway himself felt with his family. Now that SRK doesnt have any projects on hand, he told in the interview that he would spend the entire year with his family.

With Katrina too? Man, this guy is a fast operator! But how come he doesn't receive 41 calls a night from Sallu bhai?

Aamir's marriage life was very much challenging. His first wife refused to change her surname to Khan. Long time back before Aamir had kids, the interviewer had asked, will the baby have a hindu name or a muslim one? He diplomaticly answered, jab hoga tab dekha jaayega.

I guess they needed to resolve these issues before getting married. As for her sticking to her name, I think she had every right to! I can't imagine changing my name, why should a woman have to if she doesn't want to?

Well, there are many possibilities. If you take your mom's maiden name, you could be one thing. Then if your mom had opted for a double-barrelled surname (maiden surname+dad's surname), you could be something else. If your granny had similarly opted for a double-barrelled surname, you could be something quite spectacular... like Nimii Sharma-Verma-Dravid-Tendulkar-Ganguly, or something along these lines! Now aren't you happy that your mom stuck to convention and discarded her maiden surname?
BTW, you remember the Sharma-Verma ruckus Guru developed in Ek Raaz? What a lovely movie, and mercifully, the VCD print I got has to be seen to be believed!

Haan haan, story to yaad hai, woh film ka naam nahin yaad aa raha tha. The little friend's name was Deepu. Such a cute kid. It was so funny how the parents acted once they found out who AP really was. I cant forget that picnic scene and the song.... "iss ko sanjog kaho ya kismat ka khela jo hum achaanak mile... aaj se pehle aaj se jyada khushi aaj tak nahin mili".... I cried watching the song. Yesudas and Hemlata got their best songs in this movie I think.
