I remember seeing this one... I also remember it was a very good suspense phillum ... but I don't remember scene number 1 I don't remember much beyond Navin Nischol, Archana and Om Prakash... chalo will have to add one more to list of movies to be re-discovered!

You find the scene # 2 emotional? I find it humurous... his questions such as Tho Mujeh Das Minute Pehele kyon bulaaya and Gaana Sikhane Jaa Rahe Ho Sirf Gaana Hi Sikhana, Voh Ladki Gale Padnewali Hai, Gala Aage Mat Bada Dena.

Tho iska matlab huva, you will find even the scene #3 also emotional

Welllll.... yes ofcourse there was humor in it, but sentimental bhi to tha!! Await the songs tomorrow... yahan to wayyyy past bedtime... till tomorrow then!

Wow... that was fun!! I checked, the net says released in 1971, that's more than 30 years!!! I don't remember any of it, but I remember it was funny and the suspense was good. Was this Navin Nischol's first movie or was it Sawan Bhadon? I know Sawan Bhadon was Rekha's first hindi movie... she was so different then... kaafi tandoorast and pretty ok to look at, not the beauty she morphed into later on!

Ah yes... Om Prakash was a marvellous character actor wasn't he? If I remember it right, it was he who carried this movie, becaue NN and Archana were virtually unknown.

Hindi films mostlys felt so unnatural - all the histrionics and melodrama, but the character actors such as Om Prakash, A.K. Hangal, David, Ashok Kumar (never knew him as a "hero" (and many others that don't come to mind immediately - the recently discussed Utpal Dutt for one) were absolutely natural! I think the next few days are going to be devoted to reading up on them... any one wants to point me in the right direction??

I agree. Om Prakash had the main role in this movie, though it cannot be called as a "hero kind". Naveen Nischol and Deven Verma, both according to me, didnt have any significant role in the movie.

The title however doesnt go with the story.. also when I picked this vcd, my wife asked whther it was a comedy movie? When I had heard the title few years back, my first impression was the same.. it has to be a comedy movie.

And the famous Pakistani Drama Buddha Ghar Pe Hai? may be an Inspiration from this title?
