Dev, Ganguly, Venky and Bhajji of Bharti School bring alive the rivalry in Planman Life's forthcoming release Rok Sako To Rok Lo, as they fight it out against Ranveer, Ziggy and Tango from Valley High. Given the sheer intensity of the conflict, coupled with its enormous scale of mounting, Rok Sako To Rok Lo promises to be the biggest school film ever made in Bollywood. The flick is packed with a taut storyline, fresh youthful melodies of Jatin-Lalit and an iconic character of Kabir portrayed by Sunny Deol as he inspires Dev and his gang to fight against all odds.

This November you can live or relive your memories of school time fun, adventure, romance and rivalry. Ah! Happy years! Who would not want to be young! Rok Sako To Rok Lo!

Casting mein kaun kaun hai??

Unknown moonjis :S

Pradeep
Sunny is there naa:

He is not bashing up terrorists this time. Nor is he flashing his fist of fury in any Indo-Pak drama. He is not even straining his vocal chord fighting to save his country. Says Arindam Chaudhuri, the director of Rok Sako To Rok Lo, ?Sunny has been re-discovered. There is so much more to him than just fist fights!?

Sunny is Kabir in the film. A strong macho Harley Davidson biker, Kabir lives life on his own terms. He challenges conventional wisdom and raises his voice against the establishment. People on the sets have to say that it would be sheer delight watching him in the film. While his looks, his anti-establishment stance, and his power packed scenes against the baddies will draw cheers from his fans, his portrayal of an emotional and soft man at heart will strike a cord will millions across the world.

Sunny seems to have performed a never before interesting contrast of action and romance, of power and vulnerability, of innocence and maturity. He is heard to have stunned Longines (the choreographer) with his act as he cheerfully danced with Dev, Ganguly, Bhajji, Venky and Suhana to the melodious number from Jatin-Lalit? ?Yaaron sun lo dil ki gungunayo na?? Isn't this truly the other side of Sunny?

This movie may become India's biggest school time love story ever.

After months of screening talents from across the country, Yash and Manjari were finally selected to play the lead pair of Dev and Manjari in the film. The duo had to undergo a rigorous workshop for sixty days to get into the skin of the characters. Most senior directors who have visited the sets have affirmed that Yash and Manjari have everything in them to be the most sought after couple in Bollywood.

Rok Sako To Rok Lo also introduces eight other new talents, all of whom had to undergo a similar process of screening and training. Prominent among them are Carran Kapur and renowned model Aparna Kumar who play the characters of Ranveer and Sanjana.

This film has ten young talents. In the lead among them are Yash, Manjari, Aparna and Carran. Former beauty queen Namrata Shirodkar plays a very interesting role in the film. Actress Deepti Bhatnagar has been presented like never before. And then there is a brilliant team of Archana Puran Singh, Tiku Talsania, Tinu Anand, Rajit Kapoor, Rakesh Bedi and Anjan Srivastava. And above all is mega star Sunny Deol who is playing the character of an iconic Harley Davidson rider, in a look that is going to drive the nation crazy Says Shubho Shekhar Bhattacharjee, The amount of mails I have been receiving from all over the world appreciating Sunny's looks is amazing. It seems that Indians across the globe are waiting to see him in that role.

Director Arindam Chaudhuri: We spent almost an entire year researching on the best fit for each of the roles. The casting was done on the basis of best fit and not on the availability of dates, as is usually done in the industry. I am sure the magic will be visible on the screen.

Planman Life have come up with the Rok Sako To Rok Lo contest where you can win a Harley Davidson bike and zoom away with the same flamboyance which Sunny exudes as a biker in the film.

All you need to do is buy an original cassette/audio CD of Rok Sako To Rok Lo and send in your personal details with the cassette/CD cover with the original hologram of HMV to the address given in the CD. And if you are the lucky one, you can win a Sportser Hugger Harley Davidson or a more recent model bike. The contest is open till December 24, 2004 and the winners will be announced on January 01, 2005.

From bollyvista:

The release event could not have been bigger, in form, size, and spirit. In a lavish event, truly in the spirit of big Bollywood glamour, Planman Life released the music of their forthcoming feature, Rok Sako To Rok Lo, directed by celebrated author Prof. Arindam Chaudhuri. The music album, acquired by HMV Saregama, was released by Mr. Manmohan Shetty and Mr. Farhan Akhtar representing corporatised film making and the new face of Bollywood respectively. Speaking on the occasion, said Jatin Pandit, "We have rediscovered ourselves in this film. The songs of Rok Sako To Rok Lo represents the true Jatin-Lalit kind of music." Adds Lalit Pandit, "This album is all about an interesting mix of freshness, youth and melody. And interestingly it has something for everyone."

Aptly hosted by Shaan, the musical evening was characterized by an innovative audio-visual presentation of six melodious numbers, each punctuated by on-stage appearances of key stars and crew of the film. Said Prof. Arindam Chaudhuri, "The title song of the film is all set to become the new youth anthem of India. The immediate likeability of the high-energy melody coupled with Prasoon Joshi's amazing magic with words, all the songs of this album will create a huge following." Quipped a visibly pleased Prasoon Joshi, Writing for this film was a very pleasant experience for me. They were keen on experimenting with new expressions and words. It makes the songs sound so very contemporary and youthful."

Singers Alka Yagnik, Babul Supriyo, Shreya Ghoshal and Sunidhi Chauhan were also present at the event. Shaan, who has sung three songs in the film, said, "The songs are very catchy. You can't but fall in love with them. Even more exciting is the picturisation. I was mighty impressed seeing Jane Kise Pukare Dil Mera yesterday on the screen." Basking in the glory of a well executed venture were the other senior actors of the film including Tinu Anand, Rakesh Bedi, Archana Puran Singh, Tiku Talsania and Rajit Kapoor. Said Archana Puran Singh in her inimitable style, "Planman Life has been able to live up to their true corporate image. It was real fun doing the film. Everything was so perfectly organized and executed." Manmohan Shetty wished the film saying, "Sincere efforts always pay off. Their hard work is visible. I am sure it will be a success."

Why so much hype for this movie? Btw any idea who this Arindam Chaudhari is?

N
Pradeep
Did you see the great indian comedy show wherein someone was interviewed and he was mocking this movie with the title.. "So Sako Tho So Lo".
Nimii
No I missed that episode.. The prog starts so late. I happened to see the episode shown day before yest.. and it was quite entertaining.

The tall chap called Ranbir is good fun. The programme is repeated early hours every day around 8 a.m. Not real a time to sit and watch a prog of this nature.

When did you see this episode? All the same dont miss the entertainment at 9 on Star One. It is real good ..

Yes seen it around 11ish....

Here is some info on Arindam Chaudhri

Director - Arindam Chaudhari

Management Guru, Economist and Dean of IIPM, professor Arindam Chaudhari has many facets to his profile. He is also the author of market best sellers like ‘ Count Your Chickens Before They Hatch ' and ‘ The Great Indian Dream '.

His foray into the film world came when he produced a Bengali film ‘ Saanjhbathir Roopkathara ', a script which others had rejected, but which went out to create celluloid history in Bengal.

Chitralekha - yes JJWS was probably one of the nicest movies made. Juz this morning I was listening to the song pehla nasha (tho' it was the remix version, with a man mumbling something in english - but otherwise it is Udit and Sadhana singing).
