Dear Gopi and Shaibaal
Thank you for the warm welcome and the kind words. Although, I know that I do not deserve any of it.
Gopi, I have uploaded Enayetkhani kanada by VK in the other thread. Unfortunately, I do not have Brij bhushan Kabra's kirwani dhun.

I had searched through in my collection.
Shaibaal, I saw Shahid Parvez playing some time ago here in NY and after the concert had a chance to talk to him and also had a picture taken with him. I told him personally how I felt hearing his kirwani. He just smiled at me. The man is so modest and warm hearted.
I am surprised as to how Pradeep could leave his baby and what about Nimii; Was n't this a place that they created? The whole admin team gone!!! where are they now? Can't believe that those kind folks have stopped sharing their music, knowledge, and friendship.
In any case, here is that kirwani by Shahid Parvez. He, truly makes his sitar weep.

Anurag,
You most certainly deserve one, for those who have interacted with you know how special you are. And for that reason, you can never be out of mind even if you're outta sight!
Yes, HF has changed significantly since you last used to visit and even though the new rules are tedious and sometimes make HF feel like grade school, I think HF could certainly use the newfound discipline that CyBorg is enforcing rather admirably. Look what the lack of it did it to HF, we've lost many extremely valued and beloved members inlcuding the founders of HF and the entire former admin team of Unni, Pradeep, Nimmi, Chitralekha and BJ.
Thanks for Nikhilda's Kirwani. Didn't download 'cos I already have it. I haven't heard Shahid's Kirwani though and would love it if you could upload. Also, any chance you have Brij Bhushan Kabra's Kirwani?

Look who is here!
Anurag, I have to agree with B here.... However, you have got to turn up a bit more frequently and enrich the place. There are quite a few newer members who are diggajs and aap aa jaao tau we will be able to get the 'Rang' back in the 'Raag'!
I had the pleasure of attending Shahidji's concert on the 27th - he too never disappoints. He did not play Kirwani this time. I am however uploading a piece from a live concert in Edmonton. It is a short piece - but has the "chaashni" of the raga. Absolutely delightful.
On a tangent, at this other concert I attended, Shahidji started with Yaman Kalyan. After intermission he did not announce any raga names (he is such a modest man and someone that would prefer to let his music do the talking) and started off with Shahana. Then he started playing a drut gat in Ektaal in what sounded like Megh to me. He however did add some phrases that threw me off (does not take much to do that

) but it sounded largely Megh-ish (to me) and ended the concert with Piloo.
Anyway, after the concert I got a hold of him and asked him specifically about this piece. He said it was Megh Malhar. 'Megh aur Megh Malhar mein fark hai jab ki kuchh log kehte hain ki same hai.' I never had a chance to get into the specifics of the 'fark' but maybe it could be the topic of a new thread and the gunijans here could once again enlighten ham jaison ko jo andhere mein baithe hain...
