Piracy zindabad (arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh )
:EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Our kannada film industry feels that non-kannada movies should be released later than the time it gets released elsewhere .. the period set is 7 weeks :E

Who the hell will wait for 7 weeks to go by to watch an already stale movie.. esp after the reviews we get on the papers or net or mags??

The next thing a person would do is walk to the video library pick a pirated copy and watch the movie..

What do you think is getting promoted?? Kannada film industry ya piracy?

A sad weekend movie-goer sad1.gif who realizes a big sum is being saved by the Kannada film industry!
(*snicker - I saw King Arthur, Princess Diaries 2 and Tarzan - the wonder car tongue.gif, next it will be Fahrenheit 9/11 and Kyon, Hogaya Na)

Don't understand the logic of this decision.

Under a theoretical scenario -
Assuming there is no piracy (what a joke!)
And Assuming people will see Kannada films every weekly release
And assuming people see the non-kannada movies only when they release -

There will still be "new" non-Kannada movies being released every week that will compete with the Kannada movies, so the same people who "don't" watch Kannada movies now, will still not watch them but go and watch the "latest" non-Kannada movies.

As you say, all this will do is increase the revenues for the pirates. Maybe the guys pushing this (or their relatives) own a lot of video stores.

Excellent analysis Raman. I should send this to Deccan Herald so those ppl will understand that is not getting them anywhere!

All the chaos began with the tax being reduced for non-kannada films tongue.gif
