What can I say? I became obssessed with the Jaan version since the first time I heard it during the xmas holidays, it was on repeat all week, euphoric music to go with some tragically beautiful lyrics, one feels like whirling - you feel as if you are drowning in a whirl, it really creates that atmosphere, the vocals are splendid and heart wrenching.

When I stumbled onto the original I became even more obsessed with it. So it's bugging me that I am not able to comprehend the literal meaning of a few words even though I get the gist of those lines, but knowing exactly will be wonderful for me.

On the Jaan album, the lyrics are attributed to Lal Chand Yamla Jatt. But I don't know if that's cause they adapted his song and so gave the credit that way, and perhaps the lyricist was someone else? But either way, just a great piece of work regarding Sohni of Sohni Mahiwaal.
