While the Coca-Cola Company has usually come out with advertisements with more of a mass-appeal, rival company Pepsi has generally targeted the classes through its endorsements by Shahrukh, Saif or Preity. At least that's what the image is, in the market. But all that is set to change with the new Pepsi ad striking the small screen this September. And guess who will star in this advertisement? The most popular endorser - Amitabh Bachchan with a comparatively new guy on the front, out very own Circuit - Arshad Warsi.
The highlight of the ad is that unlike the current set of commercials where Bachchan bears a very contemporary urban look; this one will show Bachchan in a rural getup as that of a boatman. Warsi plays a city arriviste who with his crate of Pepsi boards Bachchan's boat and they start off. Mid-ways the boatman feels thirsty and asks him for a bottle of Pepsi to which Warsi plainly refuses.
It's then that the boatman's mind starts to work the wicked way. Water suddenly shoots up from the base of the boat and the boatman asks Warsi to plug in all the holes with his hands and legs. With all his limbs busy in blocking the leakages, the boatman happily grabs a bottle of Pepsi, smiles at the helpless passenger and joyfully gulps down the Pepsi commenting ?Badi pyaas lagi hogi na? Paani pi paani.?
The Bachchan-Warsi combo will surely be looked forward to. Incidentally the duo also co-stars in S.Ramaanathan's Zamaanat that is almost on the verge of completion.
