Friends,

This new thread is dedicated to the rare and nice songs of other legendary singers such as Lata, Asha, Geeta, Suman, Mukesh, Talat, Manna Dey, Kishore Kumar, Hemant Kumar, etc.

I will try to clarify what I mean by rare songs, by citing some examples of songs which are not rare. In the context of Rafi Saab, 'Chaudhvi Ka Chaand Ho" or "Yeh Chhand Sa Roshan Chehra" are not rare. With Mukesh, "Dost Dost Na Raha" or "Sajan Re Jhoot Mat Bolo" are not rare. As for Manna Dey, "Poocho Na Kaise Main Ne" is not rare.

Before I start my own requests on this thread, I will first upload two very nice songs, only the second one courtesy HF.

1."Pyaar Nahin Chhupta Chhupane Se"---Film:Ladla(1954)---MD:Vinod----Talat & Asha

2."Mil Mil Ke Bichad Gaye Nain"---Film:Aaram(1951)---MD:Anil Biswas---Lata

Friends,

Could someone kindly upload the following two nice songs?

1."Ek Nazar Bas Ek Nazar, Jaan-e-Tamanna Dekh Idhar"----Film:Munimji(1955)---MD:S.D.Burman----Lata

2."Chhota Sa Ghar Hoga Baadalon Ki Chhaon Mein"----Film:Naukri (1954)----MD:Salil Chaudhury---Kishore Kumar & another female singer

The first one is one of the not-many peppy songs of Lata. The second one is a typical Salil composition.

Thanks,

Venkat

Venkatbhai, Kishore has sung only for one Phagun - that is dated 1973. Definitely not the earlier two - 1958 and the later one (which had Waheeda)

The song you have requested is definitely from Phagun of 1958 -- a solo by Asha. (I just checked ultraindia.com and earthmusic.net)

HT Bhai,

Sorry for the confusion. Now, I am clear that what I wanted is "Piya Piya Piya Mora Jiya Pukaare' form Baap Re Baap only. Not the Asha solo from Fagun, "Piya Piya Na laage Mora Jiya". Iwant the three Piyas song from Baap Re Baap, not the two Piyas from Fagun!

PS. Even the funny incident belongs to Baap Re Baap only.

HT Bhai, a million thanks for uploading the Songs Nos. 1 and 3. You sure are a versatile chupa rustom!

KK's nice yodelling in the end along with Asha's humming in an alternating scale is the fitting climax to this lovely song, Piya Piya Piya!

Whenever I heard this song during many times on Radio, TV, Cassette, etc., I used to wonder whether there was a mistake that happened during its recording!

Observe the first Antara. First Asha says her line two times, then KK says his line two times and then Asha comes again after KK says his line the second time. But, in the second Antara, Asha says her line two times and then KK starts to say his line two times. But, just after KK completes his line the first time, Asha chips in with her "Aaa", when she should not! Then Asha abruptly stops and KK continues his line the second time and then Asha comes in as she should!

Many years later, I heard Asha say in an interview that when that mistake was made by Asha, OPN was uneasy, but KK has waved his hands to allow continuation of the recording! And in the film, the Hero puts a hand on the mouth of the Heroine, suggesting her to stop there!

For your ready reference, observe "Yeh Rut Man Bhaati, Yeh Din' line of KK.

There are many versions of this by Ghulam Ali himself. I want the longer version sung by him long back for recording. Not his concerts version!

Friends,

How about a Ghulam Ali Ghazal this time around?

"Baharon Ko Chaman Yaad Aa Gaya Hai"

There are many versions of this by Ghulam Ali himself. I want the longer version sung by him long back for recording. Not his concerts version!

Incidentally, my favorite singer is known to have told that Ghulam Ali is his favorite!

Thanks,

Venkat

Venkatbhai I have never heard the long version. I have a 4.35 minutes duration file. If interested I will upload it. smile.gif

Anupama Ji,

My sincere thanks for painstakingly uploading all the three versions. But, Anupama Ji, it is the third and last upload of yours (duration:4.35) that I wanted indeed. It is a recording in studio. The others, I think, are from concerts. Even the tunes are different between the No.1 and No.3! The V-3 is a lighter and semi-classical one, while the V-1 is a little heavy and more classical.

In the Version 3 (duration: 4.35), I just love this Ghazal! What an appealing tune! What a great rendition!

I keep repeatedly listening to the second Antara, "Teri Soorat Ko Jab Dekha Hai Main Ne"!

Thanks, indeed.

Venkat

Shishma Ji,

Many thanks indeed. I had remembered this lovely song when I heard it today this morning in Bhoole Bhisre Geet at 7 A.M. on Vivivdhbharati, along with my morning filter coffee!
