You are most welcome. As to the similarity in Sabita's and Vani's voices, I am not sure I
completely see that. They both have high pitches and sometimes, one can see streaks (as
you say), but in general Vani Jairam has a much more rounded voice, fewer sharp edges
as compared to Sabita's. The years of classical training shows in Vani Jairam's voice.
There is a youtube video where Vani Jairam is the judge on a Malayalam music competition
show (I guess it is similar to the American Idol concept) and she provides feedback to a
singer. The greatness of the singer and her attention to detail and subtlety shows up
beautifully in her suggestions to the competitor. Made me appreciate her all the more.

Streaks of similarity indeed they are, here and there!

Especially, when she says nasally "Raahon Mein" in the line "Phool Bichhe Thhe Raahon Mein" and also at "Aahon Mein" out of "Doob Gaye Ham Aahon Mein"!

No doubt, Vani is an accomplished classical singer. You may know one Telugu song "Aanatineeyaraa, Haraa, Sannuthi Cheyagaa, Sammathineeyara" fom Film:Swathi Kiranam(1991)--MD: Mama Mahadevan. It is one of the later Telugu songs that gives me as much pleasure as some of the best old Hindi songs!

Many sincere thanks, HT Bhai. When I hear this child-like voice of Kamal Barot, I remember my childhood!!!

Why that mellow emoticon?

Because that childhood was a phase when I used to listen to and enjoy all these great songs/sigers, without ever knowing the names of these singers, the songs' lyrics, much less the MDs' names!! The only thing I used to be familiar with was the voice of each singer and the complete tune of the song including the preludes and interludes!!!!

That's awesum! When I was kid I used to think that a little girl was actually singing the song - especially there is used to be a tamil singer by the name of M.S Rajeshwari - her voice resembled that of a child.

While listening to hindi songs, I could never remember the lyrics and would make up my own words but the tune would be right and not to forget the music which even included the violins accompanying. Thanks Venkat bhai for giving me that nostalgic flashback to my own childhood.
