Here is another great piece of information I read on the news group RMIM.

During the East Coast meet in year 2002, a 2 CD set in memory of Geeta ji was
distributed to all the participants.
Many members at HF have generously shared some of the songs from these.
There are many rare and unheard before songs in these compilations.

I have marked these songs in bold. It will be great if some kind soul can share these
rare songs.

meanwhile, apart from the songs from films like pyaasa / dillagi...the others too would be rare for many

Its my pleasure Sri. Its indeed great that as many as 37 songs out of these 50 have been uploaded on HF (since I joined in May last year). Its a great effort and dedication on the part of these original contributors.

I will be more than happy to share the 37 songs which I was able to listen and enjoy thanks to HF.

Here are some observations about the listings of songs in these 2 CDs
1) Dominated by solos (36 solo songs out of 50)
2) Covering the span of 18 years (1947 to 1965)
3) Includes songs from a variety of composers which is very pleasing
4) Most of the selcted songs are sweet melodies
5) Songs with varying human emotions

In short, a lovely sweet collection of songs. I dont think any compilation of HMV/RPG is closer to this.

Why can't HMV/RPG bring a 2 (or 4) CD set of rare HF songs of Geeta ji ?
