Panic and Deewani thanx for posting on ths song. this song is among v v fav of mine. and will remain forever.

lyrics are simple and realistic. It tells abt the actual obstacles tht lvoers have to face in real life- Money, status, society, caste , religion etc, !

Love means lot of sacrifices. not all are able to sacrifice the luxries of life. sab love shove nikal jaata hai jab yeh sab face karna padta hai.

One of my favs too I was able to visit due to the request. Thanks Sonu for that line... I knew the gist but couldn't make out the words. Also I'm still not sold on Rulaane I like Dilaane better, if it's not Dilaane it should be. But I guess it make sense......

Hmm the rest, I assume are corrections in "spelling"? I see Sehra for you know a Dulha's Sehra, but then there have been a number of weddings over here lately so......but then what I have typed Sahara - that can also be Sahaara - as in support, lol, and then there is Sehar or Sahar as in Dawn....... So unless we type in Hindi or Urdu or Punjabi, I guess that's debatable, but I'm not one for debate much.

Gurbat - well it can mean poverty, or being a stranger in a strange land. In this song I take it to mean his state of exile... meaning because he is poor, he is a stranger in her rich world. So it's the state of being that would give them grief, specifically tears

Both Bayabaan (as in dasht-e-bayabaan) - Wilderness
Sahara - Desert

So the gist of that end of the last paragraph - Those that set out in the path of love with a candle of love in their hand don't think about where the evening will fall - whether it be in the wild or in the desert.


I apologize in advance, as I am horrible at translations, not to mention lack elegance. I am one of those people who think that literal translations just lose so much of the beauty and context of the original language.
