Asha Bhosle did a concert in m city yesterday. ' Aapli Asha Bhosle' a concert full of her marathi filmi an non filmi songs, naty-geete (drama music).

the show was sheduled on sunday actually but heavy rainfalls didn't let that happen.
but it was rescheduled for yesterday ( monday) and it did take place even when rain threaened us all.

the concert started at 7 pm and went on for 2 an half hours. heavy rain did pour but Asha never left the stage. she needed no umbrellas unlike rest of us 10000 fans.

but then Nana Patekar came with one and protected her. ( you could see the pic in TOI)

Sudhir Gadgil anchored the programme and when he started asking her questions about music directors and their memories, Asha stopped him saying that she would rather sing. she said that all these fans went home empty handed yesterday and she should make it up for them.

she sang 19 songs which included her famous film songs, some non filmi ones (composed by Hridaynath and Shridhar Phadke, son of late music director Sudhir Phadke. Shridhar has done a great album with her - ritu hirwa)

there were naty-geets (musical pieces from marathi drama). some of them were originally sung by her father and also Bal-Gandharva.

she did tell few stories about some music directors like C Ramchandra and Sudhir Phadke, Dutta Dawjekar.
she told a funny story about how Lata didi asked her to sing famous ' reshamachya reghani' lawani from film Maratha Tituka Melwawa. she did a wonderful imitation of her Didi's style.

there were some delicate moments too. espacially when she mentined how she was thrown out of her own house by her husban Bhosle and she was pregnant at that time. she noted that it was a rainy night then too.

songs:

1) Bahu asot sundar sampanna ki maha (maharastra geet)

2) Malmali Tarunya Majhe ( by C Ramchandra)

3) Mage Ubha Mangesh

4) Kevha tari pahate

5) Jiwalaga, kadhi re yeshil tu?

6) Gomu sangatine majhya tu yeshil ka?

7) Reshamachya reghani

8) kuthe kuthe jayach honeymoon la

9) Bhogale je dukh tyala (from Ritu Hirwa)

10) Gele dyayache rahun

11) Shura Mi wandile

12) De hatha ya sharanagataa

13) nahi mi bolat natha

14)Chandanyat Phirtana

15) Chandane shimpit jasi

16) ka re Durawa , ka re abola

17) Aaj kunitari yaave

19) Ya dolyanchi don paakhare

19) Hoon to gayi followed by Jiwalaga , rahile re door ghar majhe (Bhairavi)

i shall remember this concert forever. smile1.gif

hi,
the last song Jiwalaga, rahile re door ghar majhe.... is based on Raag Poorvi/ Puriya dhanashri. It is NOT based on Bhairavi.
