It is our immense pleasure to inform you all that we are going to conduct a cultural program to celebrate the Glorious birthday of Padmabhusan Manna Dey on 1st May, 2007 at Mahajati Sadan, Kolkata from 9.30 A.M. onwards in the name of “Mrittika”.

Tickets will be available at Studio Hero (Near Esplanade), Melody (Near Rash Behari Avenue) and Gandhar (Near Garia Bus Stand). Tickets will also be available from the Mahajati Sadan Hall before 7 days of the program. Interested persons may also contact at the Manna Dey Sangeet Academy for tickets.

The fund that will be generated by this program will be spent for further development of the Manna Dey Sangeet Academy Archive.

On this occasion we are going to publish a souvenir in which different articles will be contributed by distinguished personnel from the music and other fields.

We are also going to launch a bi-annual magazine on the same day that will be enriched by different information and meaningful writings by eminent personalities, related to Padmabhusan Manna Dey and his music domain.

Interested persons may send their articles in Bengali / English. Pls send me your article by email or PM. Those will be published in the souvenir and/or the magazine, if selected.

We earnestly request your kind patronage by providing sponsorship or insertion of advertisement in the pages of the souvenir / magazine.

This will be a lifetime experience...Don't miss it...

Many happy returns of this day Manna Dey sahab ji...It is my pleasure to be associated with Manna Dey Sangeet Academy. Many many thanks to Dr. Gautam Roy who is one of the active members of our academy and we are organising a beautiful programme in Kolkata today with Mrittika at Mahajati Sadan at 9.30 a.m. A souvenir is going to be published on this very special day. Hats off to Gautambabu for taking this responsibility to perform a mamoth task.

Dr. Gautam Roy is the eminent writer of the famous autobiography "Jiboner Jolsaghorey". It is a very good news to us that the english version of this book "MEMORIES COME ALIVE" will be published today by the eminent film director Mrinal Sen. The publisher of this book is Penguin. The book will be accompanied by a beautiful CD of a rare collection of 14 songs of our legend.
