Lata Mangeshkar’s ghazal album after 17 years

We very rarely hear the queen of all hearts, nightingale of India, the great Lata Mangeshkar nowadays. And needless to say her fans must be very disappointed with it. But here is a news that will make you jump with joy. She is all set to release her first ghazal album in 17 years and is make in the studios to record for it. Ever since her last album ‘Sajda’ along with ghazal maestro Jagjit Singh, which received enormous response, she hasn’t compiled a ghazal album until now. The album will be on the stands in May. The ghazal album took almost two years to complete due to her frail health.

A young protégé of her, Mayuresh Pai has composed music for the album. "Mayuresh earlier composed an album of Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee's poetry which I sang. I was very impressed by his ability to lend music to Atalji's toughest verses," she cites. Javed Akhtar is penning the lyrics. T Series will release the album and both are coming together after a long controversial break. But Lataji says that there was no problem at all and she has always worked with the banner
