Never heard about it. The only thing I know about this album is this : All the female singer songs were recorded earlier in Suman Kalyanpur ji's voice. Its said that the nightingale had SJ record them in her voice and then keep those versions in the film and records. The only song in SK's voice which was left untouched was "Juhi ki kali meri ladli"

Yeh sub kahi-suni baatein hain, donno how true or fabricated ?

BTW, "Hum tere pyar mein sara alam" is one of my personal favorite number.

Parag,

Thanks for your quick response.
In the end, Suman got 2 solos and a duet; Lata got 2 solos. Are Suman versions of other songs available or simply lost?

Perhaps, R&D will have some information on the Rafi version, if such a version was recorded.

Hari Bhai, you must have meant that Suman ultimately got one solo and one duet.

Incidentally, my curiosity about this Rafi version of "Hum Tere Pyaar Mein Saraa Aalam" is increasing minute after minute. Can anybody throw more light?

After all, these things are not impossible, as we saw from Azgar Bhai's upload of Manna Dey's version of "Jinhe Naaz Hai Hind Par Woh Kahan Hain" from Film:Pyaasa(1957)!

I got the reference from the 750 Rafi Solo list from RMIM.

R&D,

Thanks for finding the information source for the Rafi version.
Let's hope, some members in this forum will have more details, if the song exists.

Venkat bhai,

This is how, I came up with the song numbers 2+1 for Suman and 2 for Lata.
Here is the song listing for Dil Ek Mandir.

<Hasrat Jaipuri> Lata Mangeshkar:
hum tere pyaar mein saaraa aalam kho baite hain, kho baite
tum kehate ho ke aise pyaar ko bhool jaao, bhool jaao

<Hasrat Jaipuri> Mohammad Rafi:
hum tere pyaar mein saaraa aalam kho baite hain
(Waiting for some confirmation on this version)

<Hasrat Jaipuri> Mohammad Rafi, Suman Kalyanpur:
jaane waale kabhi nahin aate, jaane waale ki yaad aati hai
dil ek mandir hai, dil ek mandir hai
pyaar ki jis mein hoti hai poojaa, yeh preetam ka ghar hai

<Shailendra> Suman Kalyanpur:
juhi ki kali meri laadli, naazon ki pali meri laadli
o aas kiran jug jug tu jeeye, nanhi si pari meri laadi, o meri laadli (2 parts)

<Shailendra> Suman Kalyanpur:
paalanhaare raam hai raakhanhare raam
karde apne aapko arpan man ke naam

<Shailendra> Lata Mangeshkar:

<Hasrat Jaipuri> Mohammad Rafi:
yahaan koyi nahin teraa mere sivaa, kahati hai jhoomti gaati hawaa
tum sab ko chhod kar aajaao, aajaao, aajaao

Many grateful thanks, Hari Bhai. This "Paalanhaare" song of Suman is actually only 01:15 long out of Oye Sonu's u/l of 2:25.

Now, we need to hunt for this Rafi version of "Hum Tere Pyaar Mein Saara Aalam" song. I request the Mirsa's, Balaji's, Kamala's, Azghar's of this world to help us. How I love to hear this Rafi version!

Parag,

What you said above appears totally plausible. The Nightingale must have prevailed upon Jaikishan to re-record both "Ruk Jaa Raat" and "Hum Tere Pyaar Mein Saara" in her own voice and scrap the Suman versions!

Those were, I think, the days when Shankar and Jaikishan would divide the Film's songs between them and separately compose their songs. So, in the process, that Birthday solo (Juhi Ki Kali Meri Laadli) of Suman which must have been composed by Shankar (and not Jaikishan) was retained!

But, the bigger question is whether the Nightingale had even got the Rafi Saab's version of "Hum Tere Pyaar Mein" removed from the Film!

Dear Venkat,

I don't know anything about this. And IMHO lets be fair to Lata ji, this song may have been recorded in Rafi sahab's voice but still not included in the film due to any other reason.

From whatever I could make out of this song 'hum tere pyaar mein saara aalam', I feel the song wouldn't suite a male character. IMHO, if a Rafi version was recorded, it might have been a short snippet or the song with different antara.

Thanks a lot for searching your audio and video collection for this song.
I didn't want to include this unauthenticated entry in the filmography.
If someone ever comes up with this song, I will add it later.
