Hi geeta dutt fans,
I am a newbie here, but wanted to share what i think.
I have seen that Mahesh (mahesh) and Mahesh Sharma (maheshks) have been very active and informative on geeta dutt.
Both have lots of rare songs and rare videos.
I want to propose to have these 2 as moderators of geeta dutt forum
any views/thoughts on this ?

Well, need to mentions some details.
Alybaba, Parag, CM2, BC , BTM , mirsa are also active members here, but both mahesh are most knowledgable and very generous in sharing songs from their collections
Hope this is taken in positive spirit.
Cheers

The thread seems to be running quite well without any moderator.
While the Geeta Dutt Forum may lack in numbers, the quality and enthusiasm of some of the members like Mahesh, Parag and Alybaba is truly remarkable.
MM
i have a feeling that both mahesh and parag have been relatively more focussed on geeta dutt as compared to other singers.
all the other luminaries mentioned here have been active in many other places too - so i do not generally identify them specifically with geeta dutt as such
having said that, i am not very sure about whether there is any need for a moderator here in the first place - because, many of the stated moderators on HF are absent in any case.
also, i haven't come across anything on the geeta dutt forum which seems to require any 'moderation' ! in my view this forum seems to be going well...... and has also gained in 'status' recently.

IMHO, it will be a great idea to have Mahesh ji and Mahesh Sharma ji as moderators of Geeta ji's forum.
No doubt about their knowledge and willingness to share gems from their collections
Cheers

Apart from "moderation" (meaning filtering and monitoring the posts) what are the other duties/responsibilites etc of a Moderator ?

A moderator is generally required if there are constant fights and unrest in a forum. Do the members feel that a moderator is required for Geeta Dutt's forum?
As for the duties of a mod, please check the board guidelines - 2.0 Guidelines for moderators.

With this answer from Admin, I dont think it is necessary to have a moderator in this forum.
Any thoughts..?

My thoughts remain the same. This thread does not need a moderator.
I hope Admin took note of Sri ji's well made point about the absence of the named moderators of Mukesh ji and Kishore Kumar Forums.

IMHO, we need a good leader like Mahesh and/or Mahesh Sharma ji. As I see on the homepage of HF, it says "Forum led by" and not "Forum moderated by"

hey enough of all this
this forum does not need moderation.
the innkeeper is Parag without doubts.
if he has any technical or database question I bet Maheshjees or any of us will help him out
on the contrary I feel Parag has been the best catalyst-
and it is he who is responsible for the status GD forum has acquired
and it is he who is responsible for the increased traffic and awareness for GD songs.
Nikita you being a Bengali {i assume} you are very keen to promote GD.
But I promise you Parag is doing a swell job

i saw this topic today.
i shouldn't say much, as i am not very active member in this forum.
but from what i know, i think this forum is doing great now and credit goes to above mentioned members.
it was their effort that brought the forum on main page in Legend section (where it truly belonged.)
i think this responsibilty will only result in undue pressure on the concerned member.
if there arises a situation which requires moderation, Admins will definitely take care of it.
