A rumour flew around in those days that Naushad was unwell and has hit some kind of a composer block during this film. So he "bought" these compositions from one of his assistants, Mohammed Shafi. Of course, its all but a rumour. Many joked that Naushad himself had started these rumours to explain away the failure of the film
Whatever it may be, I liked the songs of the film - Lata's "tumhaare sang" in particular.

Yes ,the rumour seems to be true.. Whole music of "sohni Mahiwal", and songs like,"Do Hanson ka joda" and Dhundho Dhundho re sajana" from Ganga Jumna and Kari badariya from Admi were composed by Mohd shafi. his widow, Zinat apa once said " kam inhone kiya aur shoharat kisi aur ko mili"
He himself was a well known sitarist and brother of sitarnawaz ustd Vilayat khan
