Asha ji has sung some Bhangra nos. with a few of the Punjabi artistes!

Never knew about this until recently. Discovered this album - Cham Cham Nachdi Phiran - With the Uk based artiste ( I think) - named Alaap.

She has sung with him for 2 numbers in that album.

Check in Punjabi forum under DK's UK Bhangra Thread, I think I had shared some there. I had also previously posted about the release of Jhanjhar in 2006, I guess that post was a casualty of the hack because I could not find it again. So albums that I know of off hand:

Jhanjhar 2006 - this one was remnant of another album by a person who's name I can no longer remember, bottom line his album never came out, so they released the maxi single. Oh, ok, I found the info:

Alaap's website has some more info on Cham Cham Nachdi Phiran, I can't be sure but I do remember a re-release of this album that was titled something along the lines of Asha with Channi...... Anyways, it went platinum and won many awards back in the day.

I think there might be filmi style bhangra songs in the punjabi film "DHIYAN DHAN BEGANA"......released around 1988..........i have the film but havent watched it for over 10 years.
I'm not 100% sure......but there was a bhangra cassette that i brought in very late 80's.....cant remember what it was called.....as i no longer have it/find it....something like "The Heros" i think......there was a song in there which could be Asha Bhonsle.

Channi [from Alaap] did 2 cassettes.....one with Asha ji.....as already mentioned in one of the above posts.....and the other one with Anuradha Paudwal
