Here is a video clip of a melodius song sung by Hemant Kumar..
The clip if from a hindi movie.
The tune of the song is similar to suraiyya's song in afsar
Nain diwane kitne diwane.

Could someone tell me :

1. the name of the actor on which it is picturised
2. whether this song was ever released on records/casettes?

The clip is from 'Anubhav', I believe. It starred Sanjeev Kumar and Tanuja as the lead pair and was directed by Basu Bhattacharya.

The 'actor' singing the song is also the singer - Subir Sen - and not Hemantda although they do sound close. Subir Sen played himself in the movie for this brief appearance. You might remember Subir Sen from "Main rangeela pyaar ka raahi, door meri manzil".

The song Subir sings is a very popular Rabindrasangeet (as the songs of Rabindranath Tagore are commonly referred to) and has been recorded by a lot of people - including Hemant Kumar. I will try to upload a copy after digging through my disorganized records.

"Nain deewane" was lifted from this very tune.

You may be referring to Indrani Sen. As far as I know, her only Hindi/Urdu album is a compilation of the songs of Rabindranath Tagore translated into Hindi. A few of them are here...

Yes, I meant Indrani Sen. I played one of her Bangali song at the other
link and was impressed by her vocals.
I also could not play any of her Hindi songs. I think files are not on the
