One thing for sure, Bappi should be credited for-giving respect to
singers. He gave light numbers to serious singers like P Susheela and
Aarti. Remember "Tere liye maine janam liya" from Singhasan-Kishore P Susheela
Admirers of Bengali artists restrict themselves to praising few personalities only. They hardly
recognize this Bengali-bengali combo, which was a radio favourite after "Tumhara pyar chahiye"
around the time of release of Manokamna. I am sure the next generation of these conservative fans will
take corrective action and start admiring genius of Bappi
