this song is Good enough to shut mouth of Bhappi critics. What a compositon. Just notice the piano work in song. excellent. Those who have heard song "Main sehra baandh kar ayunga" from Dewwana mujh sa nehi can notice small similarties in interludes/tune.

I think Every MD knew what sort of songs suited Anwar. just see the songs given by RD and bhappi .
After Rafi saab s death . every one knew that he is the one who can fill the void created by death of rafi saab. He was welcomed with open arms by HF industry. But he didnt had good luck

I had read a interview of Anwar in my schoool time. If my memory is correct he gave reasons for his downfall in that interview.Acc to him When RAj kapoor approched him for Prem rog, he demanded v high rates .Due to which RK dumped him and instead used a new comer(sort of) Suresh wadekar.Once RK refused to work with him all leading directors and MDs refused to work with him. And thus this lead to entrance of another singer Shabbir kumar. and rest all know.
( can any one confirm this incident???)

Oye Sonu, I'm think you may have heard these before, but it may have not occurred to you, other Lata/Anwar duets that are wondeful are the ones from Heer Ranjha 1992, Yeh Safar Bhi Kitna Suhaana Hai from Sawaal, and Main Naseeb Hoon Kisi Aur Ki from Insaniyat 1994.

Shahrukh bhai the song sounds familiar, I can almost hear him singing those lines, but I just can't place it, do you have any further information?

Oh yes, Anwar has sung with Kishore in the title song of Qurbani which I will u/l. If some body have in CD Quality please u/l this.

He also sung with Rafi Sahab in the film Duniyadari 1977 but I think his voice appears with the chorus.

Anwar has 2 duets with Lata in the Film Heer Ranjha:
1. Rab Ne Banaya Tujhe Mere Liye &
2. Ranjhna vay...Rab Ne Banaya Tujhe (Part-II)

He also sung with Lata in these songs as indicated in earthmusic.net, and still have to discover:

By god Agar duniyadari ka song mil jaaye to bahut badiya. Duniya dari 1977 ki movie hai aur this could be one of the songs from intial stage Anwar's career. SHANKAR(jaikishan ) ne duniyadari mein kaisa use kara hai Anwar ko dkehne wali cheez hogi.

“ I was born in Bombay in 1949 where my father was an accomplished harmonium player and an assistant music director to the famed Ghulam Haider. Being an only son, my father wanted me to follow his footsteps and learn violin. The only problem was, I was more interested in learning how to play my own vocal chords. When my father realized my preference, he sent at the age of 13 to learn classical singing from Abdul Rehman Khan, who had trained the famous singer Mahendra Kapoor.

Upon graduating from school, I decided against going to college and opted instead to pursue my singing career. Following bit appearances in many public programs, I was finally spotted by music director Kamal Rajasthani who was composing music for a film called Mere Garib Nawaz. Although listeners were impressed by my voice and its similarity to that of Rafi’s the movie flopped and I had to once again sit out a long patient wait for the next opportunity. The fact that such well established singers as Rafi, Mukesh, Manna Dey, Kishore Kumar, and Mahendra Kapoor were all at their peak in those days, did not make it any easier for me.

The period of waiting finally ended three years later when, in 1977, comedian Mehmood gave me a break in a film he was producing called Janta Hawaldar. Under the musical baton of Rajesh Roshan, I recorded all of the film’s songs and one particular song – Hamse ka Bhool Hui – became a super hit. This put me on a happy joyride to the top. Offers began pouring in. First there was Noorie, followed by Naseeb in which I sang a song for Amitabh Bachchan. Then came Vidhata in which I sang a song that was picturized with Dilip Kumar. Many more hit films followed including Arpan, Soni-Mahiwal, Ahista-Ahista, Dulha Bikta Hai, Hum Hai Lajawab and, of course, my title song from the film Qurbani. Some of my recent hit films are Ishq Khuda Hai, Kasak, Yeh Raat Phir Na Aayegi and many more.”

Sonu Bhai, thank you for liking the quality of the songs. Actually after extracting from Audio/Vedio Cassettes I always try to remove its noise because there may be a noise of sound card, electricity, circut or cassette, up to the possible mark else some musice may be lost.

I think the song "Ek Haseena Ki Nigahon Ka Nishana Ban Gaya" is only sung by Suresh.

Now this is the time to enjoy these very very nice songs...
