SIDDIQUI Bhai,
Yet another web site "WIKIPEDIA" discovered, featuring article on ANWAR, written by anon fan.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anwar_(singer)This article has been tagged since
August 2006.
Anwar is a playback singer who rose to prominence in the Hindi playback industry because of the uncanny resemblence of his voice with that of Mohammed Rafi, who is considered to be one of the greatest of the Hindi playback singers.
Anwar's voice has many similarities with that of Rafi, in terms of tone, range and general voice quality.
Anwar was quite popular during the eighties with his renditions of songs such as "Hamse Kyaa Bhool Hui, Jo Yeh Sazaa Hamkaa Mili..." ("Janta Hawaldaar"), "Muhabbat Ab Tijaarat Ban Gayi Hai..."("Arpan"), "Rab Mujhe Maaf Kare, Meraa Insaaf Kare..."("Sohni Mahiwal").
After tasting success with such, and many more melodious songs, Anwar chose to concentrate on stage performances abroad, reportedly owing to less than favourable treatment meted out to him by the Hindi film fraternity.
The only singer who's
voice naturally matches with the legend Mohammad Rafi. There are many in copying the voice of great Rafi but artificial voice doesn't help for a long whereas still Anwar have the almost same sweet voice quality as it was before 25 years. But unfortunetely due to some of the dirty minds Anwar gradually disappearing from the play back singing. Before last year he made an
album called "Meri Aashiqui Se Pahle" which demonstrated in popular RKB show of Sahara Channel. All the songs in the album are so sweet that you would definately remember Rafi and appreciate Anwar's talent.
Mohammad Rafi himself appreciated him when Anwar sung a song "Na kisi ki aankh ka noor hoon". The only song which was sung by Mohammad Rafi also in different movie. The wording are same but the tune is different. Both songs had remarkable pupularity those days.
We expect him to sing more songs as now a days no sweet melodious voice is in the market after passing away of Mohammad Rafi and Kishor da.
Fans, we must find these albums (
