Yes, the song is by Subir Sen and not by Hemant Kumar. Subir Sen's style and voice of singing was that of Hemant Kumar. Thats why this error. Just as we sometimes mistake Manhar Udas for Mukesh.
But here, what makes me wonder is: why did SJ choose Subir Sen for Rajendra Kumar. Beats me. I can understand he also chose Mukesh there. Another Subir Sen's song there was: Ay Dil Kahan teri Manzil....

The song qouted by you Ay Dil Kahan Teri Manzil, Na Koi Deepak Hai Na Koi Tara Hai ... is neither sung by Subir Sen nor is it from the film Aans Ka Panchi. This very beautiful song is from the film Maya. Its music is by Salil Choudhary and it has been sung by Dwijen Mukherjee whose voice has neen used by Salil Choudhary in some other movies also.

SJ has used Subir Sen in Chhoti Bahen (Mai Rangeela,,,), Kathputali (Manzil Wahin Hai Pyar Ki...), Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja (Aaja Re Aaja Re Aaja Nand Dulare...), etc.
