this is a tribute to dear bappa[late bappaditya chatterji] and his two most favourite artistes.
i became a regular at hf from feb 2005 after priya's repeated mentioning of this group in sks[yahoo group].one of the first persons i came across, writing extensively about geetaji was bappa.he was the first person who stressed the need of having a separate geeta forum in hf.he first wrote to me in mar 2005 regarding his passion for geeta dutt,meena kumari,hemant kumar and suchitra son.i replied back writing that he seems like a long lost brother!
bappa remained the most active member in geeta forum, responding to almost every post,uploading songs and providing us with details about geetaji's family.he became less active from august onwards because of his busy academic schedule.he wrote again in the first week of november and then disappeared for ever...

starting in reverse chronological order,the first uploads are songs from sahib biwi aur ghulam[1962] with music by hemant kumar and lyrics by shakeel badayuni.

Mahesh ji and friends,

I just realized how tough it is to be away from HF for such a long time..and then I stumbled upon this thread, dedicated to late Bappa Chatterjee, an ardent fan of Geeta ji.

I thought its a good idea to revive this thread with re-uploading some of the songs above and may be with some info on the 2 personalities Meena Kumari ji and Geeta ji.
