Here is an interview Asha did for NPR a few days ago...

You gotta admire this lady's spirit as much as her voice and talent.

Radio ki interview dekhi nahi jaati, suni jaati hai.
So, most of us clicked on the "Listen" button at the top of the
page, right below the title of the article. Be warned that it is
a 10 minute interview, so it might take a bit to be streamed
to you. Would recommend an internet cafe to listen to it if
you don't have broadband.

NPR = National Public Radio
And if you just looked at the site itself, one would realize that. It talks about
Podcasts, mentions other shows, etc.
But it sooooooo much easier to just blame the men na. But that's okay, it is
a cross we bear, often with a smile smile1.gif
deewani

This page also has an audio interview with the group as well as a "live" studio session of 3 songs. (A bit o/t - Anoushka and Pt. Shankar will be performing in Berkeley on May 7).

I did see a listen button but assumed it was for the songs of the album. As for all the info U mention, some of us do not have the luxury of idly browsing sites!!! mad.gif

But while U are carrying Ur cross and smiling benignly, why don't U get us an online recording of the interview (in secret of course blab.gif ) --what happened to those Telugu songs???? huh.gif

Here is the interview with Asha and David Harrington (of Kronos Quartet)
on KQED Radio. Asha does not say very much, but it is still quite a treat
to hear. To somebody like me who has been listening to Asha for so many
years, and that too her entire range of songs from the 40s till now, when I
first heard the CD, I could only focus on how her voice has deteriorated
over the years. I kept going back to the sound of her voice when a lot
of these songs were originally recorded.
But as I was listening to the interview, I kept going back to the fact that
she is 70+ years old. And when I listen to her with that backdrop, it is
nothing short of extraordinary to realize that this voice goes with that age.
In the flashes that one hears in the interview from the CD, one can still
see the virtuosity and the innate greatness of the singer.
Hats off to her for having done the cross-over from India to a much larger
audience that had never heard of her till now.

But why do we use the term ‘triple whammy’? Simply because there is another legendary entity that has made a backdoor entry into nomination terrain - Kalyanji-Anandji! And how is that? Well, the band The Black-Eyes Peas have won one of their four Grammy nominations for Best Rap Performance By A Duo Or Group for their song ‘Don’t Phunk with my heart...’ from their album Monkey Business. The track has been virtually created entirely by compositing two K-A solos of Asha Bhosle, ‘Yeh mera dil pyar ka diwana…’ (Don) and ‘Ae naujawaan hai sab kuchh yahaan…’ (Apradh)!

Any chance someone could upload the Apradh song. TIA
