Not sure of what meter (alankaara) it is called in maraaThi,when you have a single letter repeating in the words (never studied maraaThi in school), but in Hindi it's called the "anupraas alankaara"...

Most of the "alankaar" come from sanskrit, so they would be really same in marathi or hindi.
It is anupraas in marathi as well (aliteration) (and meter is vrutta or chhand, I dont remember the english word for alankar)
The famous example we were given was the poem by kavi anil
gaDad niLe gaDad niLe jalad bharuun aale
shiital tanu chapal charaN anilgaN nighaale
another (somewhat related) anecdote I had heard was:
Some one said to gadima that we have lots of different "anupras" letters in marathi, but we dont have any poems with "La" rhyming and aliterating.
So gadima, the most skilled craftsman of his trade, wrote
ghananiiLaa, laDiVaaLaa, jhulavuu nako hindoLaa
(superbly sung by maaNik varmaa)
