Unni - my usual airing schedule has 11 pm for EST listeners...but this time there was a clash with another program...so i moved it by an hour - not realising that there was also an 'additional' time difference of 1 hr to contend with. I realised the unsuitability of this timing for people like you..only as I was writing out the announcement for the program.

I am trying to see if some re-arrangements can be worked out ...to accommodate a suitable EST time...will let you know sometime today. If it doesn't work out - we'll have a special re-airing, aimed at EST listeners like yourself !!

"My Selection of Tamil Songs" - largely from the 60s

The radio program will feature a selection of Tamil songs - largely from the 60s. These are mostly songs which I had heard as a youngster - mostly when we would visit the South every summer, for our holidays. After several rounds of listening - I have selected those which still sounded good to my ears !
I have also added a few which have connections with Hindi songs - for the non-Tamilian listeners ( if there will be any !!).

Please note the revised timings ....to ensure that easterners in the West can also listen in I have removed the earlier announcement to avoid confusion. This is the final schedule.

Pinky if it is not a scheduled programme and the Dj is playing randomnly you may send in your request to the Dj (depending on the theme he/she is playing) vide a private message or you may be able to reach the Dj in the chat room if the concerned Dj is available. (By rule the Dj should be stationed in the chat room so as to enable anyone to reach him/her).

All fans, please keep yourself free.....to immerse yourself in the spirit and soul of Naushad's melodious music. The program, in 2 parts will cover a selection of Naushad's music from 1943 to 1968...twenty-five years of his productive best.

I am trying to ensure that the two parts can be played on successive days....and so, subject to my being ready, we should, hopefully, have Part 2 on Sunday, May 28th.

NAUSHAD PROGRAM
It's finally decided that the 2 programs will be back-to--back over the same weekend , to maintain continuity - i.e, they will be aired on Saturday (part 1) and Sunday (part 2).

However, I find that the load of compiling 2 programs, at one time, is just too much ...and I will not be able to get it ready by this weekend. Therefore, I am postponing the program by exactly one week...to the weekend of June 3/4.

Please note the change.

I am trying to include as many as possible, of Naushad's songs that I like...so that the 2 part program does full justice to the great music that Naushad has contributed to Hindi films.

Maybe we can reschedule it to be in the morning in India during the weekend..then people in the East can also listen.....and the repeat can be aired on two weekday nights in India ...that way most people would be able to join in. For the US , it would be friday and saturday nights for the first program...and the repeat would be on two successive weekday mornings.

This is how I had originally planned it...but somehow forgot about it when posting the schedule !!

Nothing unusual!! From 5th I have chauffeuring duties to drop my niece to school and back!! Plus Tax ka papers ka taiyyariyan bhi karni hai.. so all day work and no play for Nimz.. and no late nites either mera kya hoga kaalia As such I look like one zombie only staying up late over the past 2 months
