I am starting this thread to post a few rare songs of Madam.

This thread is specially dedicated to my friend Inaam for his selfless sharing of all the music and info he has on Madam, without which I would truly have been lost in my quest for her music and facts about her life and career.
Thanks dear friend. I hope I can give U at least one or two songs in return for all that U have given me.

PS: Disclaimer: I am not at all good at recognising Madam's pre-partition voice. These songs come labelled as Noor Jehan songs and so I am uling them. If the experts feel they are someone else do not blame me.

Grr...that song is sung by Tassawer khanum not by Madam noor jehan in 1970 for the film "rangeela''...u mite find it is one of her forums....if they exist??

I have no access to Pakistani songs na. Except the very few cassettes and cds available in the Indian market. Baki saare gaane aap sab ki badaulat hai na.
But where is Inaam? And Pulkit seems to have left the forum?

Thats something I can never wish to do, but life has its own course due to one's own conflicting desires. I've been extremely busy, seeing 8 patients on an average per day, each for an hour. That leaves me with little time for myself let alone Madam and wonderful friends like U, Billy, Jamal, Urzung and Inaam. I feel quite ashamed for not sending the parcels. I think now I'll have to give up the idea of completing them and would send you incomplete ones only- the goodies that had already been compiled before I started working. So, please mail me your address once again. And yeps, I would also pick up a Ghalib audio CD tomorrow for someone and soon send it with the rest of stuff. Take care guyz.......

Ya, the songs were uled by Jamal, but Inaam has a bad connection na. Anyway with the cd he also gets the cover with the pics of Madam in print!!!
But where is Inaam? I do hope all is ok with him and his family. The pictures coming in from Pakistan are so heartbreaking.

Actually, I tried calling him thrice post the quake but the operator gives the same irritating messaage, 'number not in use.' Inaam jahan bhi ho, sahi salamat, hanste khelte ho
Its sad that we get alert to these disasters only when they occur and damage takes place. Why can't we get wise enough to take precautionary measures?

Trunk lines to his place are too busy. Anyhow Inaam is located some
800 miles away from the zalzala.

Dear friends! My mother passed away on Friday, 7th October, due to heart failure. She was ill and suffering from diabetes since a long time. She was very loving and caring person and I were very close to her. It is an irreparable loss for me.

May Allah bless her soul and rest her in peace. (Aamin)

I am so sorry to hear that, Inaam. U have mentioned Ur mother often on the forum; her singing while doing her work and her failing health in later years. So it was as if we knew her too. What can one say at such a time, but that we are with U and feel Ur loss and pain.

I too want to convey my deepest heart felt sympathies. Mother is the most important person in ones life and her oassing away this is perhaps the biggest loss one can experience life.

Hello Inaam,
Sorry to hear about your mother . My father also had a heart attack on 4th of July. If he had arrived 5 mins late to hospital, he wouldnt have survived. But thanx God, he was lucky that he survived. Therefore, I know how it feels! I can only pray for your Mom that she goes to heaven.

I am thankful to all those who send condolence and prayed in this moment. Nothing is more than a mother is, and losing a mother is as close to death as we can feel. My mother however, passed away about 10 days ago … but her departure still is felt deeply by me. I was there when she took her last breath. I am trying hard to manage my emotions...

I don’t think so that I much articulated about my feelings still but sooner I will be able to compose my self and go ahead in life.

Am presenting one track for Ur inspection.
Seems to be Madam to me.

Listened to the song just now. I was hoping against
hope that (somehow) it will be NJ's recording but
it is not. NJ did not sing these songs for the recording
company on account of some differences. So Shyam
Sundar got her songs recorded in the voice of Zeenat
Begum who was in Bomaby at that time for an other
singing assignment. Noor Jahan's renditions can only by
found in the movie. I had requested Mr Pulkit and a
couple of other fellows to find its VHS/VCD but in vain.
The Pune archives have the print of Bhaijaan; that is
confirmed.

I already have these four solos from Bhaijaan by
Zeenat Begum, but you have better ones. Please
upload the remaining ones in NJ or SKS forums
whereever you like.

I used to have Chup Ke Se Dil Mein in Noor Jehan's voice on my old computer, but my hard disk crashed and i've not been able to get hold of it again since. I'm sure I got it from somewhere on the web, possibly sdburman.com (i know it seems like a strange location!). I'll get in touch with the website owner to see if he still has it.

collection of NJ's songs issued by URC Karachi which was reportedly
owned by BIG record collector. The cassette was titled ' awaz de
kahan hai'.

Long time no see! Lagta hai aap nai hamien bhula diya hai! Thanx alot for Rajkumari/Noor Jehan duet, 2 of my fav singers singing together! Did you get hold of other NJ/Rajkumari duet from the same film?

I find it pretty odd that as a die hard NJ fan you can't recognize NJ pre-partition voice. It is quite different from other singers and I think it kinda stands out from other singers. Dont you think so? I have no trouble recognizing NJ's pre-partition voice.
