Remember Amitabh Bachchan's resonating voice when he belted out songs like ‘Rang Barse’ and ‘Neela Aasman’ for the film Silisilay. Big B's singing prowess was greatly appreciated.
And following in the footsteps of his father now, the Jr B, Abhishek, is set to air his vocal talents too. Abhishek has been roped in to sing for his friend and director Rohan Sippy's next film Bluff Master, where he plays the lead role as well. The film also stars Ritesh Deshmukh and Priyanka Chopra. The music will be composed by Vishal-Shekhar.
While Sippy was unavailable to comment on Abhishek's Bollywood singing debut, the music directors were not forthcoming about the news either. Shekhar said, “I can't tell you anything right now. You will have to ask Rohan about it. We had spoken to Abhishek and he was kicked by the idea, but we are still working on the song, and the recording is a few days away.” However, our sources inform that Abhishek recorded for the song sometime last week. Moreover, the track is a ‘Hinglish’ number. Those who have heard the song believe that Jr Bachchan has got his basics rights. Incidentally the actor had also recorded a Maithili track for Rituparno Ghosh's Antar Mahal, which premiered at the Locarno film festival this week.
