today i am uploading one of my most favourite songs from the 1952 film ''tamasha''.music is by khemchand prakash and manna dey ;lyrics are by bharat vyas and the song was picturised on dew fresh ''meena kumari''

I wouldn't be too perturbed that Geetaji has less number of threds / pages than some others. Just one song, "Waqt Ne Kiya, kya Haseen Sitam" alone is sufficient to ensure her a place among all time greats of Hindi Film Music. Elsewhere I mentioned under the Rafi thread (responding to an article by Ayaz Amir on early film music of the sub-continent) that not a single song of Saigal can be said to be sub-standard but the same is not tru of Lata and Rafi simply because they sang thousand songs many of which were indifferent as well as sub-standard. About Geeta too it can be said that most of her songs were of very high quality and she will forever remain in our hearts through those immortal songs.

the film is lekh[1949].music is by krishna dayal and lyrics are by qamar jalalabadi.
